International Joe Month continues. This week, we venture to India to review the Funskool General Flagg figure:

http://www.forgotten-figures.com/joe/00 ... lflagg.htm

This guy is one of my personal faves in terms of Funskool offerings. The unique colors aren't traditional military like the American figures, but the striking colors create a look unlike any other in the Joe line.

Enjoy!

great review as always sir.
the only complaint i have with that figure is his 'eyeballs only' paint job, which kinda gives him a 'cartoonish' and kind dumb look in his face. know what i mean?

Actually I have to say way to make a figure interesting that I would probably never look at twice. Not that it makes me want one, but still he is a bit mroe interesting to me now.

I LOVE the Flagg mold. It's thick and stocky, but dressed in a nice realistic uniform. It's a mold Master Collector should remember they have access to, no? It's only a headswap away from a TON of uses for both Joe or Cobra. Or it would be nice to see it as Flagg Jr.

And I LOVE the backstory.

However IMHO the Funskool Flagg isn't quite as great. The copper coat reminds me of one of those satin jackets worn by guys like Michael Jackson in the 80s. And the yellow fur and bright green pants look a little goofy. But as Zombieguide and Lance mentioned the biggest think I have against the figure is the head. He has those Street Fighter Movie Guile eyes that are just a dot with no lid. They honestly look. . . well kind of freaky.

None of these strikes were enough to keep me from buying up a bunch of these though.

Nice review Mike!

i dont think the head sculpt does it enough justice though.

BINGO! It's the unproduced 95 Hawk figure. That body is GREAT.

The head is OK, a little pudgey maybe but it works. However there are plenty of others to choose from.

I always learn something new from your profiles. I thought his coat was just a plain red, but now I see it's a reddish, rusted copper color. So is his hat! Neat!

And, as usually happens after reading some of your profiles, now I want one :shifty:
