Was Knock Out the "Ninja Commando" supposed to be a Joe or a Cobra?

I'm guessing Cobra along with Road Pig to balance out the equation of Flint, Budo, and SS on the Joe side. The whole series is inane but I'm curious.

no, the prototypes didn't have sigils, so I'm wondering. it's a trivial curiosity but it's there.

I say Cobra for 3 reasons:

1. He balances out the ninja commandos: 2 Joes, 2 Cobras.
2. That steel mask doesn't look like something a joe would be wearing, at least not non-removable like that.
3. Purple is a color generally associated with Cobra in the Joe line.

So yeah, Cobra.

On the mask: I'll just cite Banzai and Bushido as obvious exceptions but they're bad examples in every respect.

The whole list is as good as any logic possible at this point I'm sure, so yeah, I can make peace now.
