I was just perusing the file card gallery on Yo Joe and was wondering how people used the character. So does Chameleon exist to you and how is she used? Steve |

I use her as a Joe. I use her like everyone else uses Chuckels, I might have to send a team after her she has been undercover since 2001. |

She exists in my universe, though I've discarded the file card info entirely. She's a female undercover operative, much the way Lady Js file card describes, but for long term missions. Lady J doesn't go out into the field as often or as deep, since she has responsibilities on base. Chameleon is most definately NOT Baroness' long lost twin though |

Here's the short version: In my Joeverse, she's half-sister to the Baroness (same father, different mothers). However, through some twists and turns, Chameleon wound up in the hands of the CIA and was "transformed" into the Baroness in order for the CIA to get an operative inside Cobra (long explanation left out). The plan backfired when Baroness showed up from beyond the grave. Because she was used as a pawn without her consent, Chameleon pledges loyalty to Cobra. She becomes head of Cobra intelligence (Baroness is now part of MARS) and begins to feed false info to the CIA, working as a double agent.... -Doc |

I've made a custom of her as a Joe. She's the younger sister of the Baroness and was working for the Joes. She was only intended to infiltrate a minor Cobra site where no big names would recognize her. Tings were going smoothly when none other than Destro himself showed up. She was then tossed in a prison cell and forgotten for a while. In the cell she meets Billy and the two manage to escape. |

What Lance says also goes for Chameleon in NFCverse: the filecard was bullstink so I threw it out. Yeah, she's a Joe. I think she was always intended to be one. |

She's a Joe (although she's also the best Baroness figure after the 1984 original). In my Joe-verse, after the original Baroness returned, Chameleon managed to escape and returned to the G.I.Joe Team, where she remains a constant source of frustration to the real Baroness that there's someone that looks (and dresses) that much like her working for the Joes. Someone in here, and I sincerely apologize in that I do not recall who, showed a modified illustration a while back of a Baroness illustration where the Cobra insignia had been replaced by a star, and the uniform had been given a certain amount of red, white, and blue trim. I've been tempted to try that, as I do have a spare Chameleon. |

I actually use her as my baroness cause I really like the red highlights and I don't feel that baroness has had a better figure since. I hated the twin sister thing and then I thought of useing her as an operative posing as baroness but then I thought "well that is kind of redundant." So I just used her as my baroness. Thoght about a custom for her using comic pack head though, never got around to it since I still haven't got a backstory thought out. |

Nowhere on the filecard does it say she's Baroness's twin. It says she's her illegitimate half sister who underwent surgery to mimic the reconstructive surgery Baroness went though. |

As a character Chameleon doesn't exist to me. The figure makes a damn fine Baroness though. |

Chameleon is a JOE. While the filecard says what it says, I think it would have been interesting to reveal later that her back story was created by Chuckles, Mace, and Agent Faces as a way to get close to the Baroness in order to make a switch. This would give GIJOE an asset deep undercover in the Cobra High Command. Think about it. The Baroness became the Baroness as a result of a false belief that Snake-Eyes killed her brother (her parents are dead, that's why her brother was the Baron). Apparently she has no family. All the JOEs would have to do is have Chameleon make a few 'staged' public appearances as the Baroness or appearing as the Baroness. These sightings could be test runs to see if she can at least pass as the Baroness (even ordering around unsuspecting Cobra soldiers). Since the Baroness is the Intelligence Czar of Cobra, she would hear about someone pretending to be her and would want to find out for herself. She might be wary of tricks, but also might be interested in finding out if this long-lost family member is real. Chameleon isn't 'actually' the Baroness's sister, she's just a dedicated agent with a working cover. That's how I see her. --//-- Considering how many years have passed since Eugen was killed and her parents have been out of the picture, it just doesn't seem remotely possible Chameleon is a relative. |
