Lanard kept the Corps figures in ARAH style for many years, including the years when Joe was gone. Then around the time New Sculpt stuff hit, Lanard changed their figure style to a type that was suspiciously like the NS figures.

Now I wonder.....Will Corps figures soon undergo a new change in style and body design that looks suspiciously like 25A stuff?

i hope they do. I liked the CORPS figures when they were ARAH style. I mean, giving them and update would rock

Considering how long the original style lasted, I'm thinking you'll be stuck with this sculpting type for at least 15 years. :-P

Except that when Hasbro went back to O-rings, Lanard didn't. I think it would be cool if they did, though.

As of right now, i noticed that they got some build a vehicele stuff out and are they waaaaay behind with releasing them, BTR was a few years ago, but i don't see them doing anything soon, maybe in a few years.

I dunno; I'd bet they're working on this very thing as we speak. Having their 25A knock-offs hit the same time the Joe movie hits would be the *perfect* time to swoop in and steal some sales from Hasbro, imho.

Not a big fan of the figs, but I have to give props to Lanard for the vehicles. Some are actually pretty cool.

I liked their ARAH-style figures to some degree, especially that group that came out in 1998 that seemed to have a little more attention putinto it.

Although I haven't been a particular fan of their more recent figures, I do like the organization, not to mention the enemies, given to the most recent incarnation of The Corps.

And yeah, they make some cool vehicles, no question about that.

As for 25th style Corps? Since I'm not collecting the 25th style Joes, this would be rather irrelevant to me, but I find myself wondering if the figure design might not be a little too complex for Lanard's presumably more limited budget.

it would be awesome to have a little compatability between the two lines, some of the Lanard stuff is pretty cool, just way over scale. However, they just gave their figures a makeover with brand new head sculpts and a new "storyline" background, so maybe they won't jump on the 25th bandwagon. even if they don't do it all the way, a little closer to the 25th style scale would be awesome.

I don't think they will myself. They're sales have been pretty strong. They changed their style when G.I.Joe's style changed, I'd say due to the old product getting stale. Remember when Wal-Mart was clearancing out CORPS! figures for like $.98? Now if the new product slows down to that point, they'll probably make a change. I kind of got into liking them. If they had hip articulation, they'd be a perfect alternate figure line to me.

I really like the corps, I always have, but I don't think they are due for a change yet.

I'd like to see some emergency/construction guys using the current style, but not sure how viable that is.

One thing I did notice with the new Rivals two-packs, is that they decreased the number of weapons by 50%. You used to get 4, now you get two. Same with the single packs, fewer weapons per fig. Not sure how the 3 packs are faring in this regard.

Hard to say but given that even Dr. Jones has gone to a 1:18 scale and other toy lines are eyeing the scale it would be a good time to change the look and articulation a bit to take advantage of the band wagon. The company doesn't seem to be lacking any in the ideas department and their vehicles have always been pretty cool, just not a fan of how bulky their figures are compared to the other 1:18 figures and some better articulation sure couldn't hurt.

The new 3-Man Recon packs have one weapon per figure, plus the small vehicle.

Here's another factor as to why I don't think the CORPS will change anytime soon. Right now, their current figure design doesn't resemble any G.I.Joe presently available. It's not that close to the traditional-styles offered by the Club, nor is it especially close to the 25th Anniversaries. It's SOMEWHAT close to the newsculpts, but even here, there are notable differences. I'd say that design-wise, the Corps has found something of a structural identity of its own, and maybe that's what Lanard wanted.

I do agree that there seems to be a real boom in the 3-3/4" world these days. Star Wars, of course, continues in that scale, as does G.I.Joe. Then you've got Indiana Jones, WWE, the upcoming DC figures -- but none of them share precisely the same construction design, and there are differences in appearance that keep them from being entirely compatible with one another. I don't see any need for Lanard to redesign the Corps on this account.

If they had the vision to go Microman style, that'd be awesome.

I've also noticed that not only the Corps stuff, but other toy companies have this written on their packages..."compatible with other 3.75/3.50 action figures"

so what does that tell you, they are wanting us, the consumer, to customize with the other toy lines and use their product for that use. Brilliant ???
