TNI has images of the Viper wave on the new design international cardbacks. Have to say that while this new art isn't as awesome as the U.S. version its LOADS better than what our Joefans to the north were getting initially.

yeah, and the other canucks can correct me if I'm wrong, but Mr. Furgeson (the Hasbro Canada rep) at the Canadian Joe Con explained that it's difficult for them to purchase all the single cart artwork released in the states due to the mods they have to make when the creative arrives. He mentioned that the artwork has to be modified to include both French (for those dang Quebecers!) and Spanish (for Mexico and the whole free trade agreement) and going the generic route (what you see there) ensures faster delivery of product on retail shelves.

He did admit that the no-character star burst artwork was a snaffu on their part, but I think this new generic artwork will be a blessing. Personally it's just an extra step we need to take while sifting through retail stock to find that one particular character we're looking for - no biggie.

Huh? WTF!?!? Who approved this art that doesn't have Dukie front and center like he's the star?

Hmmm, using the same image for multiple figures? Sounds like someone is cutting corners, and cost.

Phail......

Not as phail as just not bothering because production for your market wouldn't justify the costs involved with doing individual card art.

It's a nice compromise and the card art kicks ASS!

And frankly, if it'd help bring down the cost of figs here the good ol' USofMFA, I'd be fully in support of this since packaging is just trash waiting to happen anyway.

Not sure how it will bring down the cost States-wise, this is a move strictly for Hasbro Canada, sole purpose being to get the product out on retail shelves faster than having to purchase all the single card artwork and perform mods to meet NAFTA standards.

The US will still benefit from individual card artwork the way it was meant to be - no costs for them to cut.
