Post subject:  Question About 25th Packaging

Like alot of you I have opened ALOT of the Anniversary stuff I have purchased. But now I have all this packaging from the single carded, 5 packs, vehicles, and comic packs taking up alot of space. And given I have one of everything MOC/MIB I dont really see the need to keep all this opened packaging.

Any suggestions as to what to do with it? Would it be a crime to toss some of it out?

As of now I will prolly cut the bubbles off the single cardbacks and keep those and any other loose file cards. But the rest I dunno.

*Sigh*

Seriously, man; THROW TRASH AWAY. Even tho I think MOC collectors are insane, keeping empty packaging is flat certifiable.

Must be alot of certifiable people in the world then.

My best suggestion is cut the plastic off and store them flat. The 5 packs are a bit tougher though.

Is it worth keeping?

To me, the newer packaging is mostly garbage. Unlike the first ARAH run, which featured damned good artwork on the packaging, everything since the '97 TRU exclusives through now is bad.

That's my opinion, of course. I do artwork, too, so my perspective might be a bit different than most collectors. I kept the card fronts from my ARAH figures, but I wish I had kept of few of the boxes. The artwork on those was so detailed, and unlike anything contemporary to it. I did keep several Spy Troops packages, and they're terrible.

Recently, I've even stopped keeping the card fronts. With a few exceptions, the artwork is just the ARAH artwork, poorly altered in Photoshop.

There are times when the collecting habit seems dangerously close to a hoarding. If you don't have adequate space to store boxes upon boxes, it does become a cluttering issue, if not a fire hazard.

I've cut the bubbles off all the cardbacks and have them stored in a Hasbro box that some figures were shipped in. They don't take up too much space that way. And I just kept one of each of the 5-pack boxes. Those are in a box in storage until I get some room to display them. They'll be backdrops behind the figures on shelves eventually.

I've thrown out all my five packs packaging, and cut the bubbles off the singlecards to save the filecards.
Since they don't have flag points, I don't see the point in keeping them, other than the filecard.
So toss trash, and be guilt free. I through the power invested in me by the internet absolve you :rotfl:

5-packs - I still have all three boxes cuz they're purty.

TRU 3-pack - packaging went straight in the trash.

Target vehicles - as soon as I cut Crankcase's filecard out, it's going in the trash.

Single packs - I have a stack of cards with the bubbles cut off. One day I'm going to cut the filecards off and trash the rest...one day.

Cool. Thanks guys, I have an idea of what I want to do with all that stuff. The single cardbacks will definitely be kept. The rest, depends on how I feel about it.
