anyone know? I ask because the new 2th Vipers have detatchable goggles, which is kind of cool at first, but then they fall off. and then they fall off again. and again. and again. and then you loose them. and then you crawl around on the floor for an hour looking for them. and then you find them. and then you super glue them onto the viper's head. cause the viper looks ridiculous without them their. And that's why vipers need goggles.

Yes you definitely have issues, but back on track, i don't know why Vipers have them, to me they are useless, they have a full facemask.

It is in case the full face mask gets destroyed. Heck they are in battle a lot of the time. It is bound to happen.

The Goggles! They do Nothing!

I always thought that the goggles may have been IR or UV or starlight (light amplifing) for limited vis ops. Remember in 1986 they did not have everything integrated or as advanced as today, and the concpet may have been to have the capability, as well as the full face mask to either complement each other or for interchange.

i used to rationalize it as a retractable facemask/blast shield on their helmet...but even then, it's cooler to have that than the goggles

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I have opened two of these and aside from the aforementioned goggle issue, I have also noticed that they cannot stand up straight. The feet on mine are both pointed slightly down, meaning they lean backward when placed on the stand. It seems to be a matter of the boot design, not tight/stuck joints.. Anyone else seeing this?

yeah, mine has that also, but just one foot. the other one is fine. And the hand/wrist comes off really easily.
Despite these faults, the viper has taken over the number one spot of coolest sculpts. just think how crazy good it would be if it didn't have all those issues.

Why are here? What is our purpose? Why do Vipers have goggles? These are all questions that man has asked since the begging of time. Yet there is no true answer. We are left to ponder the many possibilities.

If you ran into battle on a sunny day with a platoon of guys wearing mirrors on their faces, you'd need anti-glare sunglasses too!
