Found these Thursday night, and I have to say I'm probably less pleased with this wave than any previous 25th assortment. There's just an abundance of what seem like really foolish flaws. So much wasted potential IMO.

Spirit: Probably the best figure in the wave, but he can't really hold his gun (why eliminate the actual grip that the v1 Spirit's gun had?) and his head looks odd. Possibly because of the one forward/one back pigtail deal. He also has some really chunky web gear and a useless left hand.

HISS Driver: I actually don't have any issues with him.

Snake-Eyes: Night vision goggles that can't be removed without leaving a big hole in his head, weirdly positioned hands, and a newly sculpted sword that's worse than the original one from '88.

Wild Bill: Uses the flawed Ace mold, with the too long torso, which I can forgive. But his tiny, tiny head, and massive holsters should have been fixed.

Viper: The basic mold is fine, and even though they fall off easily, I still like the removable goggles. However, the person who decided to have the vest clasp in the side is an idiot. It looks bad, won't close completely, and interferes with the movement of the arms. I'd glue them on, but the removable gear is a big part of the line for me, and I shouldn't have to anyway. Speaking of the arms, why put the hands in useless positions if they don't even allow the figure to hold it's weapon by the foregrip?

This wave could have very easily been much better than it is. I've no problem tweaking a few things here and there, but when I feel the need to take an Xacto to 90% of a wave, there's an issue.

Anyone else feel the same way?

I don't know, for the most part I haven't been really digging the 25th series, but I picked up a set minus the hiss driver yesterday and for the most part I am impressed. My favorite is SE primarily because all the gripes I had with the previous figures seem to have been corrected with this version. I'll start buying more if the future figures continue to be like this.

I'm disappointed I can't find them. Does that count?

I can't speak to the entire wave because my preorder won't arrive until Monday, but I found a couple of Vipers at retail on Friday and I love these guys.

I had been concerned that I wouldn't, because I'd read some complaints about how the Vipers don't stand right and the goggles don''t stay on and the vest supposedly looked weird, but they looked cool enough in the package that I bought both.

When I got them home, I had no trouble standing them up fully geared and the goggles actually seemed like they'd been glued in place (they hadn't, apparently they just kind of adhered the way plastic sometimes will to plastic).

I don't have any issues at all with the way the vests look.

Really the only thing bugging me is the hands. I wish the right one was straighter.

All in all, though, a fantastic figure.

I didn't really mind any of these things, having picked up wave 3 just yesterday.

I thought the complaints about the Vipers were overstated. They hold the rifles the way they used to as ARAH figures (at least the pose I always used of both hands on the rifle).

I decided rather than lose the goggles and have my vipers look silly, a drop of super glue or two was acceptable. Now they're awesome!

Wild Bill I love, Hiss Driver's looking much better than I imagined, Spirit's OK, and oddly, my favorite is Duke with his awesome JUMP and flag! All in all a solid wave. I bought the whole case except the two Snake Eyes.

I've only found Snake-Eyes and the Viper so far, but here are my thoughts:

Snake-Eyes - would be absolutely perfect if he wasn't so short. He's the shortest figure yet, and I had planned to use him as a base for a ton of customs, but I've since cancelled most of my pre-order SEs (had like half a dozen ordered.) These guys can't seem to find a "medium" range for their figs, they're either midgets or giants.

Viper -- unlike SE, this guy is too TALL -- as tall or taller than RB. That can be fixed by chopping his lower legs a little, but you shouldn't have to 'fix' Army builders! And his hands -- holy "LASER BLAST" are they ugly and useless. I've got a feeling that I'll be chopping this guy (and his two brothers that I ordered) into customs rather than using them as Vipers. Which is fine, as I've never really liked the Vipers anyway.

Based on what I've seen so far of the others:

Spirit - the head is crap, but I've got a custom head that should work fine. The webgear also looks all dicked up, so I'll be fixing that.

WB - the same problems other folks have noted - I can fix the torso like I did with Ace, but pea-heads are hard to over come. The holsters I may try to replace with VvV holsters.

HISS guy -- meh, don't really care about the character - he may get some use.

Duke - meh. I'm starting to really hate that mold, and the Jump/flag are ok, I guess. Grand Slam will be happy ;)

It depends on what you mean,

I think They are doing a hell of a job given they are probably Over engineering some Mediocre movie toys for next year. This seems like something to keep the name out there until The movie hits (and hopefully not flops) Besides, I don't expect perfection from anyone let alone Hasbro. You might find gripes but as a stand alone line that is meant to be appreciated by older fans for characters and playable by children they are doing a good job. Just because the awe factor of the new sculpting is gone doesn't give people license to crucify Hasbro designers who are businessmen and out to turn a profit at the end of the night and only make you happy enough to buy the next product and we all know we will buy if they sell it or you wouldn't be on a message board talking about it

Now off to church...

Happy mothers Day all

I posted a profile last week expressing my major disappointments with WB and Spirit. I am working on Hiss Driver and Viper now. But I will say I do have some major points of disapointment in those first two figures, the rest will be posted soon

Also it appears the scalping has quit with this wave like it did with wave 5 (the repack wave) the figures are lingering longer somehow. Perhapes because they are actually becomeing availible the alure is not so grand. Still if my rat-hole WM has them they should be everywhere. That place never even got the Crystal Skull Indy figures (but did have raiders oddly enough) and I had to drive 40 miles to get old fart indy and grave guardian.

Mixed feelings myself.

Wild Bill isn't that bad for me being a tall drink of water, I mean he is from Texas and somehow I can see someone from Texas going for oversized guns. Hat sort of helps with the small head.

HISS Driver is great, really all the stuff I like about the 25th line. Only down side would be that he doesn't fit into the classic HISS, but if he did then he'd be on the small side for the 25th figures. Hope the figure gets released again in later waves because it seems like it's going to be a hard figure to find with so many things going right on the figure.

Vipers. Okay it's a pain that you have to use force to get the feet right and if that was the only issue no problem. Those hands though really drive me up the wall. Just don't like that they have to hold a weapon to not look silly. Would have been a great time for Hasbro to experiment with throwing in an extra set of hands as an accessory.

Spirit I'm not totally happy with but can still live with the figure. The one ponytail forward one back takes off some points. I do like his gear even if it does have some problems. Plus it wouldn't be the cowboys and Indians wave without Spirit.

Snake Eyes I only passed on him because I'm just not into having lots and lots of Snake Eyes figures. Happy with the commando and ninja figure so it's hard to feel a need for this one.

I'd like to have Duke's jet pack for Grand Slam, but that would mean buying another Duke figure just for a jet pack and flag. Seems like Duke is starting to get done enough again to feel like Sigma Six again. Only this time Duke is always wearing the same sort of clothes instead of mixing his look up a bit.

Oh and the back of the cards are nice enough to remind you that we've got another delay on Major Bludd.

what bothers me most about the viper is the way there's that extra area on the elbows of the arms hanging down...it just looks stupid and uneccessary. with the hiss driver i don't mind nearly as much but still, it's weird looking.

seeing the viper helmet without the goggles is kinda cool looking though, it reminds me (in a good way..if possible) of the VvV viper head sculpt.

and i didn't realze how short snake eyes was until i stood him up next to snow job.

I have everything released so far at retail and I really like it all. Don't mind all the Snake Eyes's as he's my favorite figure and I will get everyone Hasbro releases. "Duke Arms" don't bother me, as that's easily fixed with the ol exacto knife. Viper's loose goggles, easily fixed with a dab of superglue. What I didn't like about Spirit was that he wasn't painted like the original, which I quickly fixed. Snake Eyes I may fix by filling in that hole in his head, as the original figure never came with the NVG's and maybe I'll just put a strap on them for when/if he'll use them. Never have nor will I ever expect perfection from Hasbro and as long as I can fix any issues I don't like, I'm content.

I've only been able to find one figure from this wave so far, Snake Eyes (and besides the HISS Driver, it's the only figure I REALLY wanted from this wave). And I'm not even close to being dissapointed. I've had the figure for about two weeks, but with finals and coming back home for the summer, today was the first chance I had to open 'im up. Awesome figure. I think the night vision goggles look awesome on, so I have no reason to take them off. The knives on the chest are actually very impressive, and they stay on rather well. The only thing I'm not crazy about are those pipe nunchuk things, but I never liked them. The detailing on the figure is really impressive. Every one of Snake Eyes' single carded figures in this line is better than the last.

The only two of these i've found are Wild Bill and Spirit, and I've gaotta be honest, I am kind of disappointed. I was really looking forward to Wild Bill, and there's just something, I dunno, off about both figures. It's like they aren't the same quality as the first couple of waves of the 25th/Modern era.

OK, the original poster complained about a hole in Snake Eyes' head. What's that?

I haven't seen these figures at all, and there are surprisingly few pictures of them online considering how many people have found them already. And NO proper reviews yet...so I'm totally in the dark.

What's wrong with Snake Eyes' head? Why would they put a hole in it?

The hole is on the right side of Snake Eyes' head where the night vision goggles plug in.

I, too, would like a proper review of the wave to pop up online. Come on General Hawk and LT Dragon...
