Anybody else considering buying up peg warmers as an incentive for restocking? :shifty: The stores that sell through around here are the ones that also restock more often, and they are the ones that get the new stuff more often.

Around here, what seems to be pegwarming is Cobra troopers, air troopers, and Rock and Rolls. and buzzers. amd scarlet/hawm comic packs. Is there anyone on here left that needs any of these? Are lots of army builders selling on Ebay?

I love the irony of the pegwarming army builders that we currently have problems with. :-)

I personally think, in my humble opinion, that the reason Army Building isn't doing as well with 25th is because the figures are a tad too tall to fit in with our existing armies....and that's the main reason at least that I don't army build any 25th figures.

The exception will be the 25th BAT which I think everyone will army build like mad.

Way ahead of ya. ;) If I find someone needing a particular figure or figures, I'll pick them up and ship them off, just to clear out what's been sitting for the past month or so.

Don't have too many peg warmers in my area. Closest thing was TRU, last week they had 3 each of Serpentor, Lady Jaye, Cobra Commander, and Cobra Trooper, but they were just put out recently. Target & Wal-Mart were bare on the singles, till wave 7 hit both stores. Comic Packs keep getting restocked, that's why those appear to be peg warmers. But I do troop build. I get 1 to keep MOC and my loose troops consist of 7 of each troop builder.

I think the reason the "Troopers" are warming the pegs is because they aren't real Troopers; they're Viper Glider Pilots with the silver sigil.

Now if Hasbro released the red sigil Trooper with black harness (exactly as it was from the Battle Pack) then I'd bet those would sell out within the first day.

Similarly, the "Air Troopers" which are actually Gas Mask Troopers are in comic colors and are Officers; building them would give you more comic colored Officers than Troopers.

Man, I wish I could find a lady jaye or rock n roll warming a peg around here. Most figures are always sold out except buzzer, cobra trooper, and air trooper.

Kinda funny that because he wears a silver logo, the single carded cobra trooper is staying on the pegs.

I'm not sure I believe that stuff about the silver logo making the figure less "army buildable." Maybe I'm in the minority, but I really don't care what color the logo is. What I really think is that people have army built all they're going to build of those figures. With so many releases of the same mold, and in several color schemes, there's been enough to go around for anybody who wants them. Or just about everyone.

Plus, with the rising cost of things, not as many people are going to run rampant with their army building as they have in the past, particularly when given the choice to either army build a figure they already have or buy up new releases.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm guessing the silver logo trooper is beginning to oversaturate same as the SW clones have been for the past year. Granted it's not in the same proportion since Joe sees a lower production run than SW, but my guess is that people have gotten their fill of Blueshirts for the time being and are now saving up for Vipers, Bats, Snow Serpents, Hiss Drivers and everything else we're supposed to get in the coming months.

The TRU I work at is clogged with peg warmers so we arent getting any new stuff in either. The idea to buy the 13 single pack figures has crossed my mind. But what am I going to do with 2 extra BeachHeads, 4 extra Hooded CCs, 2 extra Serpentors, 3 extra Buzzers and 2 more extra figs?

Those figs need to sell so I can get dibs on the new stuff. That is how I was getting about 50% of my Anniiversary stuff. But with this small roadblock, I am going to have a much tougher time.

We also have about 10 comic packs that need a home and 2 of each of the battle packs sitting on the shelf.

In fact, my store still has 2 of the OG comic packs and a Lady Jaye/Gas Mask Trooper comic pack from 2 years ago.

I can only speak for myself but I have army built so much over the years I just don't have the room. Why army build a viper when I have 5 V1's, 5 green, 7 purple, 5 crimson, 3 drivers (both variations), 5 army builder wave, 3 red VvV, 4 Blue VvV, 6 Blue and silver breakout, and I am sure I am forgetting a few. Basicly I just have too many as it is so why army build more. Grab one and be done with it is what I am thinking anymore. The only 25th AB I have grabed mulitple of is Air trooper cause he was a bit different (and only 2 so far and not sweating any more honestly, seen plenty).

But I felt the same way with Cobra Troppers, Crimson Guard, thinking the same with the BATS and Snow Serpants. 1 each and I am happy. Add to that they keep churning out varants and you are overwhelmed in no time from army building.

Again just speaking for myself here but my armies are fine before these new ones step in.

I kinda like the Silver Logo Cobra. He comes with the colored rifle. I thought about replacing all my other Cobra troopers with the silver one. I don't see scores of him on the pegs.

Really the Peg Warmers are all the figures from waves 2 & 3. Buzzard is always on the racks and various of friends from those 2 waves may or may not be there with him.

I think peg-warmer is really a matter of where you live at. Just doesn't seem to be any such beast living in the Carolinas. Sure some times we end up with two or three Serpentor toys that take two or three weeks to get gone or I think a few Buzzers sit around for two weeks, but everything seems to get gone. I thought my local Wal-Mart was over stocking comic book packs, but even those seem to be working their way down.

Army builders still don't stand much of a chance here. People complain about the new Viper but they sold all Wal-Mart had in about two days.

Guess you could buy up some of the shelf warmers if you had some custom ideas for them, but I think some of the figures just really deserve that shelf warmer status like Serpentor.

I thought about it, I might go and buy maybe one or two figures a week at the local Target and Walmart to help clear them out. That way it's not like I'm throwing away $100 buying them all at once, which is kinda hard nowadays when it costs almost $50 to fill up.

I was thinking of just saving them for the holidays and donate them to toys for tots, or see if the Red Cross is taking stuff for Chinese victims, I'm sure little kids in need don't care what they get, a toy's a toy.

Or, another thing to do, which I've seen it talked about in Star Wars forums, is buy them up, then go to a store you don't normally shop at and return them. I remember reading a little feud about some guys mad at some other collectors a couple towns away, so they'd buy all the peg warmers, then go to the other collector's stores, and return them all there. Kinda funny if you ask me, mean, but funny.
