Gonna try to get rid of some stuff that's just taking up space, got a table at a local toy show at the end of May. Anyone got any tips for first time seller? Really just trying to unload most of this, not trying to retire off the sales or anything.

First, decide what your ultimate goal is, getting rid of stuff or making money. Sometimes the two meet, sometimes you have to decide which is more important. i always looked at it if I could just get back what I paid for it I'm good, maybe a little less if it freed up a lot of space. Nothing worse than having to pack it all up to take back home.

Talk to everyone. Other dealers. Kids who got dragged to the show. And of course buyers, even if it means pointing them to another table that has something they might like.

Dump bins. I used them to dump everything from comics to stuffed animals/beanie babies to custom fodder I never got around to using in them. Hell I'd have free bins for the junk figures that came with dollar store vehicles in a FREE bin. The longer the show goes on, the lower the price goes (, , , FREE) and the more stuff from the table goes in them. No mom can say no to "Free". Just put an item limit or someone ill take the whole bin and to resell it. So many times people would feel obligated to pay me for something because it made their or their kids' day.

The more variety the better. Like sure, you can have a focus but for every 1/18 military/superhero collector coming to the show, there are 5 more people of all ages walking through the doors with just as many different interests. There are things I brought to a show thinking for sure it was going to move as soon as the doors opened that didn't even so much as get a side eye glance in its direction. And then some random clutter I grabbed from the kid's junk bins, that went within seconds in a Macy's on Black Friday kind of "Oh crap" kind of way. It makes you a little bit more forgiving with the big toy companies trying to figure out what people will gravitate towards.

Have fun. Walk the sales floor. Donate towards the raffle prizes. Have someone else grab you lunch. Have prices visible on as much as you can. Did I mention have fun? Have change of a $20, $10, $5 and be paypal/venmo ready. Talk toys all day! But most importantly, have fun...and steal a chair if they don't supply one. Oh and bring a phone power pack.
