Hi, I’m pluv and sometimes I customize. Been a while.

First up is a D&D character I’m playing. A Giff (hippo folk) sailor with access to magic. Couple of weird things on this one worth pointing out.

First, is I made a very similar character for an entirely different campaign and this was the culmination of all the choices I ended up not going with. Never throw out ideas. Everything can be recycled.

Technique wise, I wasn’t satisfied with any of the toy hippo heads out there and I wanted to be able to add an opening mouth later. So I carved out essentially a foam skull and then sculpted over the foam. Not perfect, but I liked that process and have already figured out how to improve it.

Lastly are the soft goods, namely the top tunic. I wanted to be leather. It is supposed to be heavy leather on the character. Closest I could find were purses. Then an old baseball fell out of the closet and hit my foot. I dressed it up with some jewelry leather lace. Play Ball!

Oh, did I mention his main weapon is a magic floating tentacle?

My wife mentioned seeing a haunted house decoration on tiktok that the lady used a Dollar Tree dollhouse for. We found the doll house and I sprayed painted it. But then she wasn’t sure if she wanted it inside or in our herb garden by the front door. So I know it lacks details. But what I did want to show her was how cool it looked with tea lights…and a fiber optic. What I wanted to show you guys is it is Jada scaled!

Masterful work on the tunic. The crease above the belly looks in scale for the figure, adding lots of realism.

That would be a cool scary doll house for sure. I think there is a hippo skull in the safari mammal skull toob.

Both are excellent. That Giff is exceptional.

Been thinking of getting one (or two) of those houses for customizing for the Joe table top game. Maybe a Springfield situation or even a D20 modern game.

It has a hinge on the side and nubs on the other, so if you find two of them, you should be able to snap them together to make a full house to add to your tabletop game. For a $1 and change, you can't beat it.
