A 1987 that is both a forgotten character while becoming a sought-after figure, this is Rumbler.

Although I completed this artwork all the way back in 2020, I just watched HCC788's recent review of the figure. HCC was completely unimpressed with the figure because it's made of re-used parts and lacks paint applications.

I agree that the paint applications were lacking on the figure- something I somewhat adjusted on this artwork- I really like the figure. On the figure, the Footloose head could've been done better with light blonde hair or darker skin tone. Rumbler's dishwater blonde hair is too close to Footloose's medium brown to separate the characters.

Even though I like Rumbler, this isn't my best art. It's an awkward pose with odd proportions. But it's done, and sometime's that's enough for me.

Another nice one. If I had any complaints it would be that he apparently missed leg day. ;-)

You're more than generous, but thanks still!

If I remember right, this is one where I did all kinds of stuff to save it in photoshop, but just couldn't breathe life into it.

Honestly, the Heavy Metal jacket is always cool to me. He’s one of the few Joes from North Carolina so I have to have some affinity for him!

He looks good. Reminds me of keelhaul w/o hat.

Agreed, and I have no problem with Hasbro recycling it in a medium brown, which I far away from HM's black jacket.

Does North Carolina also have alligators like South Carolina? I kayaked in SC a few years ago, but couldn't quite relax because the kayak rental lady assured us that they're would be alligators, but we probably wouldn't see them- but they'd see us. If NC is alligator free, it just became my favorite Carolina.

Thanks! The figures both shared legs with Bazooka, so the Keel Haul vibe is there!

:shifty: Wait a minute *scratches head* :ackbar:
I had to go double check, but yeah. Keel Haul was all new parts. He didn't share legs with Bazooka, only TF Bazooka & Rumbler do.

I was half-wrong, or half-right if you're feeling generous. Keel Haul and Bazooka have the same lower legs. Just checked on the figures themselves.

Yojoe.com didn't make the connection. That's probably because the folds/wrinkles of the lower legs are sculpted to "flow into" the upper legs of either Keel Haul or Bazooka.

But I had misremembered, thinking that the upper legs were the same. Keel Haul's right side upper leg has a holster, and the left side has a different pouch than that of Bazooka. 1985, when Hasbro still cared!

For a repaint, I never really had an issue with Rumbler.

The jacket looks good in brown and the legs, yeah, could be a bit more khaki to get away from the peach color.

The head could have been done as blond, red, or dark haired to mix it up from Footloose.

I used to have an OD version of a bomber jacket, reversible in safety orange. I wonder what that torso would look like in a dark leather brown, smoke black, or OD...

Oddly, I don't mind the peach color. Kind of nice change of pace from all of the other figures with desert uniforms.

All of those parts were decent, and didn't get enough mix and match with other parts. Those pants would have worked well in camo (aside from Bazooka's TF uniform).

Yeah, blonde or red hair would have been a good step away from Footloose.
