i dont typically hobby by deadline, and the first week of january mixed with holiday "LASER BLAST" is getting overwhelming. i hope i can get some pictures done this weekend but i have so much adult stuff i have to take care of before i can devote an hour to getting prop stuff together and taking photos.

anyway. i mentioned twice already that i intend to make cyberpunk/space figures out of the o-ring parts i have left. my last post was some of my masters of the universe cyberpunk/space group and you cant have he-man...without the ghostbusters. (but it's me, and ghostbusters definitely came before motu for custom figures). frankly. this image is what started the whole "im going to make things cyberpunk/space now"
Image

so, i took ghostbusters franchising to space and the multiverse with this group i am working on. it's kind of full circle because some of my earliest customs here are o-ring ghostbusters. i just spent about 30 minutes trying to hunt the pictures of them i shared here down but the search function hasnt worked for a while and google isnt letting me search too far. but "new" pictures are added below.

so i dont REALLY dont like sending pictures of figures that arent done until they're done to share the wip photos. but, i also do not like to share incomplete groups of figures either. i am going to convince myself that i only need to share two of them (since the other two are waiting to be painted); the captain and the paranormal scientist. essentially space venkman and space spengler (but not venkman or spengler).

today you get to see EC-T0 from my cyberpunk ghostbusters, slimer, and since im talking ghostbusters here's some "new" (2013ish) photos of the ghostbusters i posted here like 20 years ago using my sony handicam i bought for filmschool, an ash from 20 years ago, hellboy from 20 years ago and peppered in the ash and hellboy photo are my old zombies from a group project 20 years ago. (20 years ago.)

3C-T0
so, i thought "im going to make my cyberpunk ghostbusters now." and then instead of doing that, i made this droid out of playmobil ghostbusters gear, magnets, and a target exclusive droid depot astromech. i havent figured out how to attach the playmobil proton pack to him. he carries a trap too.
Image
Image
Image

slimer is a 3d print with mini wargaming painting techniques applied to him. i wanted him to glow.
Image
Image
Image

this is a "viper ghost" i made him 20 years ago, and i always wanted to make him glow but also not ruin all the effects i made for him at the time. the skeleton parts were made from push molds of ray harryhausen 1:18 scale toys i got at some fye type store at the time. black wash, blood wash, trying to get a decent skeleton color. it's an original viper from the waist up (maybe the waist is a bat) and from the legs down is mercer and quick kick. not digging him out for the left lower leg i think it's also a bone. i dont think i ever shared this figure outside of facebook.
Image

ghostbusters busting him
Image

now, these figures are packed up but here's what i remember they're made from:

peter and winston
zeddemore has paper straps to reflect where zippers and collars would be on his flightsuit. eco flint arms his head is a 90's roadblock.
venkman has a hawk head and arms, shipwreck torso, quick kick waist, pathfinder legs
Image

spengler and stantz
spengler has a longarm head with staple for glasses. paper for zippers
stantz has a chuckles head and legs
Image

werewolf vipers. i wanted to make some vipers as werewolves
german shepherd style werewolf
head and tail is from order
hands and feet are from burger king wolf man
everything else is viper with sculpey
Image
Image
Image
Image

doberman style
head is junkyard crammed into a viper head i dremeled out
blanka torso and arms
waist dialtone 90's
upper legs mercer
paper for shredded clothing
Image

Ash and Hellboy
Image

ash
head action man
torso shipwreck
waist tunnel rat
legs tunnel rat and monkey wrench
right arm ghost rider with kitbash chainsaw
left arm i dont remember. maybe buzzer.
Image

hellboy
head and torso blanka
arms new sculpt junk with the hell arm sculpted on. the hand is secured with a thumbtack and can move at the wrist.
waist and legs shipwreck newsculpt junk
trenchcoat potf2 endor han solo

Sorry to say the site's capacity for large image files has impeded my ability to process and respond to your posts in this thread. Having said that...

Love all of this so much! So much creativity in how you're using parts and "crossing the streams" of brands to build out your own vision.

Side note: I hesitate to mention this, but last week, in effort to clean out my storage shed, I took the desperately degraded Millennium Falcon toy I first acquired at age 5 (1981) out to the dumpster. It hurt. Seeing what you did with just such an artifact has me further questioning my choice. My only comfort is that I never would have done such an incredible job in redeeming my old MF as you did. Amazing work!

another of my favorite customizers poked their head in here!

i wouldnt sweat the falcon man. i totally mutilated the vintage one. taking the bottom of the hull off to reverse and put into the hull of the otc collection falcon pretty much borked the whole vintage falcon. i bought the vintage falcon shell when i started collecting potf2 (in 1997), before i got my potf2 falcon(in 1997). there was no chance i was ever really going to complete it and i had it wasting space for a long time. this was about the only thing it was good for; and it took thinking i needed to get my guardians of the galaxy customs a ship.

unfortunately. fortunately, nearly every tgi fridays i've been to has a vintage milliennium falcon screwed to the wall and i can look at them there.

we're kind of winding down from figures i have pictures of on my computer and facebook. i've done so many but a lot there isnt a photo of, and im not going to do them before i do my space ranger or terminator things. im nearly done with painting the terminator rifles now. space ranger rifles and backpacks are painted and ready for photos - hopefully will be done sunday.

so, to tide me over from the anxiety of not posting anything this week: Wyld Stallyn. or ted theodore logan, as a cyberpunk mercenary.
yeah i could have just made an o-ring johnny silverhand, but why would i not want to make one of the greatest rock stars of all time instead?

head: 3d print mish mash of castnplay cyberkeanu's head wires and leg (and pretty much the idea of how he looked for the body) mixed with johnny silverhand because i wanted a more accurate keanu head.
torso: some lowlight v3, either original or 00's
arms: wetsuit or super trooper
waist: chuckles
upper legs and lower left: blaster, i think
right leg: cast n play cyber keanu remixed to an o-ring lower leg 3d model before sadnessofhumanity released his.
Image
Image

im never going to be able to make a bll s preston esquire, because i dont have the time and dont know what i want to have cybernetic on him, but i would start with a v1 scoop's head.

i made this figure when i was laid off my first "real adult job" in 2021 and was super down because of all that was at stake losing that income. the pictures were taken at the hotel the night before my training week of the job i have now, which is my dream job.

Finally i was able to get the plasma rifles for the terminators painted and the valmet m82a rifles for my gijoe/techcom human resistance team AND a free moment during this dumb as hell busy time of year. i get so much piled on to my schedule that i shut down and dont do anything. my interests are usually the stuff that end up not being done. work before play. that's a big part of what takes so long for me to finish any hobby projects.
so anyway, i mention later with my firefly custom that after i made him i started getting this idea in my head that he'd be hanging out at a run down fiberglass dinosaur theme park. i'd gone through the motions of buying several plastic generic dinosaurs and hacking up a stegosaurus for this diorama, but never any time to finish it. THAT idea, of him hanging around a rundown fiberglass dinosaur theme park spiraled into "it's rundown because skynet won and he's being recruited at that place as a rendezvous point by chuckles by the joes to fight terminators, and firefly has two rogue terminators as "partners" my son set up the terminators and held the hunter killers in the first image.

rogue terminators is a neat little rabbit hole to fall down if you're a terminator fan. i sure am. there's like 20 more endos and two more hunter killers i didnt break out for this. i even made a terminator 1 tech com soldier costume - i have everything except the moving blanket sewed to my ma-1 jacket and pleather shin guards made(but i have the correct knee pads).

the customs of flint, lowlight, shipwreck, starduster, stalker, free fall, hit and run, and clutch are all old enough to buy lottery tickets and fire works. i have wanted to take pictures of them forever but like i've said before: i've fallen in and out of toys and customizing for a variety of reasons. but i've always kept the customs made during the period of these guys were made in a separate place from my customs box because i've wanted to take photos of them and share them here so badly and i'm quite proud of them. especially for/from that time in my customizing growth.

in this dio, you're looking at:

the a-team's Baracus ship's in dire need of repair after they've dropped off a shipment of smuggled valmet m82A plasma rifles and firefly's rogue terminator buddies (which they were not happy that they had two cyberdyne model 101, t-800 series endoskeletons in some crates mag'd to their ship) to even the odds. so howlin mad and clutch are frantically repairing while under fire by the terminators that were attacking their drop point to the techcom force led by flint. lowlight and starduster are covering them while repairs are made on the Baracus.

flint and the rest of his techcom team are fending them off and manage to take down one of the hunter killers. my son and i are multiversal travelers and coordinated the drop off for flint and crew, and part of how the a-team's ship was disabled so we "blooped*" in to help everyone out. shipwreck and firefly are celebrating that wrecked hunter killer to the crew of baracus. freefall is providing some cover for stalker and hit n run so they can recuperate before getting back out into battle to aid their team.

*Blooped - what we call when we travel across the multiverse at will, within a moment's notice, and it's oddly the sound the fabric of space and time makes when that happens. we basically use the pocket dimension that my green lantern power battery is held in as a means for emergency or quick travel.

FIGURES

Image
Image
Flint - when i want flint, this is the figure i use. the head IS flint. bar none. no ifs. no ands. no buts. this head is epitome flint. i dont need to make a flint cutom ever again. this is my flint figure. that's all she wrote.
head: eco warrior flint. the best flint sculpt of all time.
torso: falcon
arms: repeater
waist: foot loose
upper legs: outback
lower legs: rock n roll

Image
Image
Shipwreck - yeah i used the only shipwreck pistol with that strap on it, and it's in good condition for this custom. it was like 20 years ago.
head: shipwreck with a beard. not sure why devils due at the time made him have a beard and hasbro made this figure to look similar or dd look like hasbro, but it needed a beard so i gave it one.
torso and arms: captain grid iron
waist: crank case
legs: wild bill v1 sanded down.

Image
Image
LowLight
head: monkey wrench - i got some use out of this head that i ended up with more than a healthy amount of for some reason at the time
torso: alpine
arms: leatherneck v1
waist: hit n run
legs: general hawk

Image
Image
Image

Firefly - firefly is a good guy now. because it's humans or terminators here. this builds on my idea that i use my cobra mercenaries as mercenaries for anyone that pays them to work with them. he's one of the first i made when i started making customs again after 2015. i went a little crazy buying plastic dinosaurs and cutting them apart in an attempt to make some really sweet run down fiberglass dinosaur theme park terrain for pictures because of this custom. this custom is where i thought "a terminator scene would be awesome." and it spiraled out of control to the point of me talking myself out of ever doing it because of all the ambition i had for it. makes me sad. but. whatever.
head: the best damn firefly head ever made comic pack firefly.
torso: scrap iron comic pack
arms: sneak peak
waist: comic pack scrap iron
legs: budo.
detailed with chap mei knee pads and various grenades and pockets from chap mei, xd, and other military lines i've had. the back pack was made out of a spirit back pack and chap mei ordinance.
the plasma rifle is one of my first scaled plasma rifles. i figured he and his rogue terminator pals would have some special versions of them.
i also gave him a star wars sequel tie fighter helmet, because i bought a ridiculous amount of tie fighter pilots with removeable helmets from this movie on clearance and it looks bad ass on him.

Image
Image
Rogue Terminators - i look at these as rogue terminators that work with firefly.
whole figures: terminator salvation 3.75 endoskeletons. the dark one has a black ribbon painted red and some cobra paratrooper back pack as some kind of field kit vest.
silver one just has a vest.
3d printed plasma rifles

Image
Image
Freefall - one of my favorite paratroopers. the only one that matters. i glued a bunch of chap mei details to him - knee pads, shoulder pads, pistol on thigh.
head: mirage from 00's
torso: lifeline
arms: general hawk
waist: i dont know. didnt see in my photos and didnt look
legs: forgot the uppers.
lower legs: outback

Image
Image
Stalker - total accident i made this figure. and truth is, i made him in 2001 in my first college apartment. i had some "vietnam" themed figures i had hanging over my bed in my xd huey and this figure was one of them made; i never took pictures of them because they werent so great, this is the best of the bunch.
head: potf2 lando
torso: tunnel rat
arms: corps!
waist: snowjob
legs: outback

Image
Image
Hit n Run? - i think so. im pretty sure. check out that cool camo i did forever ago. i dont really think i named him back then because im drawing a blank now
head: bullhorn
torso: footloose
arms: flint v1
waist: backstop
legs: flint v1

Image
Image
Image
Clutch - i went with his v2 scheme, with grey from his v1.
head: outback sanded into a bandana
torso: lift ticket
arms: uh, 90's leatherneck? maybe.
waist: backstop
upper legs: yokel hillbilly
lower legs: outback

Image
Image
Image
Image
Starduster/grandslam - so this is starduster, when i made him in like 2006. i have a starduster wip that i want to be starduster, and when i finally make him, this figure will become grandslam. until then? starduster.
head: fast draw
torso: sci fi v2
arms: dr.mindbender v2
waist: scifi v2
legs: lift ticket

the space ranger dio is coming next. all their weapons are painted and my son is getting an alien queen for xmas that will be in the dio. so, xmas day or day after i'll toss that dio story here and that'll be all she wrote for stuff i have to share here forever. it really has been fun fellas, im sorry to see this place go.

so. bad news.
i hit that point where i get overly ambitious and i dont want to do it and i give up. so, i omitted the aliens from the space ranger scene and condensed it down to just two of my lightyear ships, rather than all of them (and i mean, all of them but the one released in the uk).
my external hard drive, which has every 3d model file i have is reading, but not being able to be looked at. so, i have to take my computer to the shop. so, because of that, i'm trouble shooting what i can. and that means no recipes. i'm lucky to even put in names right now, if they exist.
good news is, i decided to take pictures of my skeletor led five parsecs from home game rival group. i dont know how the masters of hte universe characters are here, just that they are.
Image

a mecha hutt
i've had a vintage jabba the hutt with a busted arm forever. like forever forever. one day i thought to get a second one who had the opposite arm broken. so, i researched how to put the arm bar into my jabba and fixed him. that left me with a hutt with no arms. i had this 3d model of a 2 legged tank in my thingiverse forever, same as the ork model that had the mech arm and the right arm. so i resized the mech and added a post that fit the hutt torso, resized the arms and made them ball jointed and jointed by magnets (the green arm swivels at the hand and elbow). i added frog bumps with greenstuff and nail art half beads. for the paint scheme i decided "yeah his mechanical parts would look awesome in devastator customs." and also "i want to paint him like some kind of dart frog". and that's all she wrote.

slash
i took a raphael, some miscellaneous part i had hot glue in for some reason on his eye, made armor on his right arm and lower leg out of scrap styrene, chap mei weapons, 3d modeled some clips for his unused weapons and painted his mask black and silver parts silver. easy.

this is me as a mandalorian. i made him at the beginning of the corona virus pandemic and want to call him "corona", but also because i used to drive to school by a dodge corona. his ship is the "chernabog" and i want him to also be called "chernabog" after the devil in tge best part of fantasia. Im undecided on his name but im leaning on "chernabog". the ship is a 1:18 a dragon's rest dragonscrest that's been unpainted for 5 years. If i cant recover my 3d files i will have lost my formula for rescaling all the dragons rest models and that's a gigantic loss.
head: potf2 fett
torso: tripwire
arms: eels, left arm has a scope glued to it to be a mandalorian missile launcher or something.
waist: budo
upper legs: corps space figure
lower legs: leatherneck v1
cloak: i promise you, if my figure has a cloak or a cape, 100% of the time it's from a stolen cloth napkin from a restaurant.
Image
Image
Image

skeletor
i painted him in his dragonarmor and battle armor paint schemes. he's a cyberpunk/space version. which is also why he isnt wearing a hood.
head: 3d model
torso: nemesis enforcer
waist: nemesis enforcer:
arms: zandar, probably.
legs: one of the original 3 dreadnoks. i dont care.
Image
Image
Image

he-man. yeah, heman is in the group. he doesnt like it and doesnt do the evil stuff. going by motu revalations where beastman was kind of a good guy, he's slowly turning the group to good. at first it was him and skeletor, and then everyone kind of came over. his fist is fisto's. i gave his blaster to roboto who is in the background of the first picture. he's just a fortnite figure with anotehr fortnite head swap.

so like i said, i'm sorry i wasnt able to make this as big as i really wanted to. the deadline of "first week of january and the forums are done" didnt help with the overambition/anxiety.

the take away here is every single head is fdm 3d printed from resized miniatures. i modified an o-ring buck for the torso to hold the neck ball, and fit between the arm pegs inside the body then filled it in with green stuff. jet packs and laser guns are resized 40k mini weapons and resin 3d printed. there's final faction parts attached to some figures; the majority of the final faction parts are on 40k. it took so long that i did the figure 3d printing before i got a resin printer, and had everything pretty much already printed in fdm; but i decided at the 9th hour to make the weapons again in resin because the hammer wanst printing right and the guns kept snapping at the handles, and 40k's weapons just would not print right no matter how they were oriented. i dont know why i do "LASER BLAST" like that to myself.

there you got joecustoms/bivouac. you were a great community when i was active in it, and it was good to see that you've lasted up until it's time to close the doors to the forums. i've been thinking about when i was in it, and the couple of meet ups we did. one at downtown disney where i met capolan (highlight of the trip for me), one in daytonaish area (near some park with i think a military helicopter or a jet - i dont remember, i brought the girlfriend at the time to it) and one in daytona at astromech/john missal's shop. tr1er was the first person i met from a forum, we met while he was down on vacation at the worlds largest mcdonalds on i-drive.

I was playing he-man openBOR with my son and remembered i totally had these guys for my cyberpunk/space skeletor and his group. I remixed the models so the head and arms can have magnets put in so they can move.

I did that to a tbob but i printed it with my fdm and it's not so great. In these guys' case I turned the fdm warts into rust.

Now it's time to head off. All that heartfelt stuff in my last post, again.
