Bought this vehicle just for the figure and couldn't resist the urge to see if I'd like it any better in classic black.

Why it didn't come painted black is beyond me. MUCH better looking.

Looks great! I'm going to hold out for a black one. My luck is that Hasbro will never release it in black :-/

Yeah I like it way better in black. Why they didnt just go ahead and release it in black I dont know unless it's like Chad said, to get our money twice.

That's what they thought about the RoC Night Raven. Now they've been put on clearance.

I really like it, it combines the best elements of the HISS and the ASP

The black looks really good. I suspect that blue would work well, too. I haven't stickered mine yet, because I was thinking about painting it. But, the panzer chocolate brown is starting to grow on me.

Right now, I'm more interested in adding a small hidden roller to the bottom of each of the track hangers, to keep the tracks from rubbing.

The black HISS showed up at the Comic con.
And the first time I saw a black HISS was on HISS Tank last week ;-)

For those of you who have re painted yours, did you guys take it apart? It looks like the screws are lateral and it breaks apart in two side halves rather than a top and bottom.

I think H made it brown not because they wanted twice the $$$ when they released that black one, but because they knew that guys like us would get our hands them and repaint them anyway. Of all the pictures I've seen of these things here and on JoeDios, only one was original colours, the rest have all been repainted.

It does look good in black, glad I've got a couple of them with which to mess around with colour schemes.
