So thanks to drbindy, I got my hands on the Renegades Duke & CC I wanted on Saturday.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do with these figures when I first saw them previewed, but in hand they offer up even greater possibilities.

First up is my reinterpretation of Cesspool:

I wanted my Cesspool to look more like a former CEO than a gaudy supervillain. In my 'verse, he's the former head of an Umbrella Corp. subsidiary whose company eneded up being the proving ground for an early version of the T-Virus. He barely survived the resultant mini-zombie apocalypse...and at great physical cost.

When he sought compensation and justice from Umbrella, the U.S. legal system stonewalled him. So he turned to a less conventional partner in seeking his revenge against corporate America -- Cobra.

Now he works with Mindbender, engineering bio-weaponry and serving as the de-facto commander of the Toxo-Viper corps. The only things he hates more than corporations now are zombies. And he had his chainsaw-bladed sword specially created to help him take out his aggressions on both.

Of course, If I'm going to have a Resident Evil tie-in, there's bound to be guest apperances by familiar characters:

Leon's still a WIP, but I'm going for something closer to his RE2 appearance here, so I don't know if I have a long way to go before he's good.

Chris is also pretty close to done, but that head has to go (specifically to my not-yet-started Wesker custom). I'm very open to suggestions on a head that's closer to Chris' look in RE5.

Thoughts?

I have no idea who the two Resident Evil guys are...
But that Chris guy reminds me Duke's second JvC/main Spy Troops appearance.

Cesspool needs his head painted, IMO.

Cesspool is gold. Nice take on him.

Leon is cool as well. I like the head choice.
For Chris I'm not too keen on the head. Seems a bit old for the character. Maybe darken the hair so it doesn't scream Duke?? Otherwise I dig him.

I agree with Jay about Cesspool. Maybe some and red and pink to gorify his face some more. Oh and white eyes. It looks unnnaturally hald painted at this point. But the rest is pure win.

Chris and Leon are good. Maybe a Build and Brawl head for Chris. John Cena or Randy Orton could work.

I think a BnB head might end up too big for that body, for Chris. I know Slayer has some heads that will work. I'll look up a screen cap from the source and see if i get any other ideas.

Glad I could help out on those Renegades figs. Finally some recent relevant stuff is landing in my area.

Did you notice that the knee pads on the Renegades Duke are removable?

Nice "spin" on Cesspool, it's a unique look for him that works nicely. It's subtle, I dig it.

The other two look great as well. All I know about Resident Evil is what I learned from the movies, which I understand is bastardized. But those customs look realistic and could fit in with a line of toys "inspired" by the RE films.

Pains me to say it, but ROC Duke/Channing head, with some sculpted hair on top and painted stubble?

Or, do I have the wrong version? Never played the games, so I apologize.

Crap. I think you may be right. Damn you.

And for all of you guys who've never played the games:

1.) Slap yourselves for me. Hard.
2.) why in the world would you have watched any of the movies?!?
3.) Run...don't walk...to your nearest video game rental joint and grab any Resident Evil title available. These were some of the best games I ever played and I bet you could even download some of them for your favorite platform by now.

Thanks for all the ideas and comments, guys.

I'll post updated pics after I implement some changes.

I haven't. I've seen bits and pieces but it's just horrible cinema.

Still, the way he looks right now, that Chris fella continues to remind me of Duke's Spy Troops look.
If you don't mind my asking, where'd you get the belt for him?

I haven't played a video game since Super Street Fighter II. Haven't owned a game system since the Super Nintendo.

Never played any of the games, just didn't interest me.

I've seen the movies and have enjoyed them.

These are looking good so far.

Really cool figures as usual. I love that Cesspool and his re-imagined back-story.

I like the new take on Cesspool, and not to beat a dying drum but the head needs a paintjob.Wash with some pink and purples maybe even a neon green and make it really pop! Also I would change the jacket color to a burgundy or dark purple,to take the image of Cobra Commander away from it.The other two look solid and would try something from Slayer for Chris head.

Definitely going to be painting Cesspool's noggin.

The purple coat idea is intriguing, but I think I'll stay with the aqua it is now. That's far enough away from my CC (I use the dark blue one from the ultimate battle pack as my standard) that there shouldn't be visual confusion. Plus, my Scalpel uses the teal Ninja-Viper body as a base and Cesspool is in bio-science, too, so there's some symmetry there.

I checked out Slayer and they have some great heads. But I've reached a point where I can't justify spending $6 on a single part. So I think I've found a decent alternative (and managed to avoid the movie Duke noggin), which I'll show off once I get it adapted.

Thanks again for all the ideas.
