I'd give the ARC reactor in the Lex suit a bright green paint job to looks like its powered by Kryptonite. I know that's Metallo's thing but you just know Lex would have a chunk of Kryptonite in his suit too. If you wanted to get really ambitious you could work a tiny green LED into the chest ... :shifty:

Thanks for the kind words, all.

I think I like the blue one even better than the awesome black one.

Does it have the same bells and whistles, like the removable gauntlets?

It does:

How did you fashion the cape?

That was tricky. I had to remove the stitching from my spare Keaton cape and use it as a pattern to cut an identical piece from some blue suede-ey material, then I had to carefully singe the edges with a lighter to keep it from unreaveling. I think it may end up being a placeholder until I can fins a blue material more parallel in weight and texture to the black faux leather the original cape is made from.

Ah, I was wondering if that would show in the original pic. I had the same train of thought while making him and not only made the arc reactor metallic green but gave him some krypto lamps he can open up on Supes in battle:

I have to say that Batman is perfect, specially love the little touches like the removable gauntlets. Always a treat seeing your DC work.

Great job on both of these. I really like that armor on Lex!

Thanks again for the kind words, all.

I think the new Lex armor has a real Injustice vibe to it, which has really grown on me.

I missed the comic Deadshot. I like that so much more than the gritty way they make him look now.

Wow, these last two are superb. That Batman makes me nostalgic for when I first read Batman comics back in the 80s, and Lex looks dangerous!

Thanks again for all the very kind words.

So shortly after I posted that second shot of Lex, my Blue Batman vanished from the Batcave display on my desk. I followed the sound of tiny machines and hammering to my parts bin, which mini-Bruce had raided in order to make a suit of Bat Armor that could defeat Lex's new metal duds.

Here's what he came up with:

Actually this started as an attempt to recreate the armored look from Dark Knight Returns, but once I had it parted together, I realized it was way too slick looking to pull off that cobbled-together-in-the-Batcave look. So I took it in a different direction and gave it a new backstory:

While cleaning up after the latest of Darkseid's ill-fated incursions, Batman came across an almost fully functional suit of Parademon Armor, which he remembered seeing a Parademon wearing when it Ambushed Superman and actually seemed to hurt the Kryptonian. Batman promptly loaded the damaged suit into a large crate that ended up on a black truck bound for Wayne Enterprises mothballed military research facility.

After repairing and making some aesthetic modifications, Batman modified the suit's power supply so that it could be rapidly adapted for a Kryptonite battery if Superman should ever turn rogue. But even when not powered by Kryptonite, the suit amplifies Batman's strength and endurance to levels where he could give Aquaman or Wonder Woman a run for their money.

While very advantageous in certain situations, wearing the suit has several drawbacks. Its bulk and weight limit both reaction speed and range of motion substantially, and although the boot jets still work, they can do little more than slow the suit's descent in case of a fall. Perhaps worst of all, the primary interface with the suit's control system is a cybernetic mental link that constantly runs a sub-routine designed to keep the typically Parademon operators ferociously focused on their main objectives: death and destruction. While Batman was unable to deactivate this system without rendering the armor non-functional, he does possess the willpower to resist these subliminal commands under normal circumstances. However, if he were to drop his mental guard for even an instant due to over-exertion or injury, he could lose control of himself.

Here's a shot of Bats using the suit to assert armor-fashion dominance:

And here he is sans helmet:

What do you think?

Wow!!! That is one beautiful piece, I'm so freaking jealous that I didn't think of parting something like this. Great work!

Okay now that I got that out of my system. What did you make the helmet from?

That works so well. Very cool looking. Another winner.

The recipe would also be great for the suit he wore to fight Superman in Dark Knight Returns Part 2 Anime. Just add a cape.
