Thanks you guys. Means a lot since this is the only community which I can feature these creations.

Here I attempted to add a slight, brownish wash but it doesn't come out well enough on the yellow areas. I may have to reapply a stronger one.

First time I painted a symbol on a figure. Prior to this, I always printed them on sticker paper. I might require a second go round.

Whilst testing her articulation for cracks. Came out pretty well.

Just a shot of my entire G.I. Joe collection. She goes well with them.

Image

Here's my entire Cobra collection for completionist's sake.

Finally, I'm considering what she'd look like in tan brown trousers over blue ones... Hmmm... Digibashing might help.

Nice. I like brighter colors on Scarlet sometimes.

I'm glad I'm back too. Ran out of steam somewhere along the way. My current environment is not conducive towards my customizing goals or creativity. I saw the Facebook page. Now I wanna join!

As for Scarlett, maybe I can keep her looking bright? She looks really nice with the collection. I'll still throw a dash of black wash on her but in time.

Hot on the heels of the Scarlett project is this guy:

Image

This is Bruce Willis. He is pretending to be G.I. Joe. In the film, he was still just Bruce Willis pretending to be G.I. Joe. After doing tons of research on the good old 60s - 80s Joe lines, I grew quite fond of the original. I realized that old Brucie Boy would look better if he actually looked the part. So I relied on this image of Bruce in his Prime:

Image

I felt that it was a good representation of this image of old G.I. Joe:

Then I came up with this:

Used putty and sculpted hair and a beard. The moustache wasn't working out so chose to just paint it. The lovely thing about Bruce, is that he already had the shaved outline on his face. It helped with lining up the beard. The hair was a bit of a challenge. He's a balding man, so getting the receding hairline to look kind of right took time. My rendition doesn't appear perfect. I probably should have aimed for less hair, but for what it is, at least he resembles the action figure he's based on.

The web gear is the same one that comes with the POC General Hawk figure. I repainted it in an attempt to get it as close as possible to Bruce's colour scheme. Now I don't even need to call him Bruce anymore. He looks like G.I. Joe! I'd argue that had he kept his beard and moustache look for the Retaliation film and tried using 10% of his talent, he could have been a really good Joe Colton AKA G.I. Joe.

I like the idea of tweaking the movie figures to look the part better, great idea and nice work on the sculpting.

Gracias! Was actually fun too? Saw 100 best Bruce Willis quotes on YouTube in preparation and it was hilarious.

I gave him a haircut. Resculpted the top and tried hard to strike a balance between Bruce Willis' look and the classic G.I. Joe doll. More images to come.
