Thanks pluv. He's fast become one of my favorites. And it's a good thing he's so playable, because neither me nor my son can seem to leave him alone.

That Ultron is sweet. Hulk is a great custom as well.

Yeah, new Hulk could be the ultimate custom Hulk IMO!

Ultron definately looks a lot better with that new height.

That's always the best test. When you can't stop playing with a custom or toy, it is a winner.

Thanks for the kind words, all.

With the new year comes a new theme: Guardians of the Galaxy.

This is probably my son's and one of my favorite films now, so when I asked who we should tackle next, he didn't hesitate.

First up is Starlord:

There's a lot of adds and ends at play in this custom - a DC Infinite Heroes deadshot coat, some Strato-Viper arms and Cobra Trooper hands, comic pack Shipwreck's torso and various scraps of brown leather-looking material. But the most intensive work was done on the head(s). I had to graft the MU Starlord mask onto an A-Team Face figure's head, and I wanted the same hairline and some smug charm on the unmasked version. Not having an actual Pratt likeness on hand, I grafted some more Face hair onto everyone's favorite G.I. Joe: Retaliation casualty.

Here he is smirking beside a quasi-custom Drax (really just a lower leg and belt swap):

I'm not 100% sold on the pistols, but they'll be placeholders until I can find some that have the funky horseshoe look to them.

Meanwhile, what do you guys think?

Both of these look great! I love the addition of the Gotham Knights Deadshot coat for Starlord and the lower leg add on for Drax. Cant wait for more in this series.

What strikes me most about this thread isnt the high quality customs themselves- though they are outstanding- but the sheer quantity of high quality customs.
Incredible stuff.

Think the Hulk is my fav

Its also nice to see Mr Fisk in plastic- though I agree that he needs a bigger head. Also- I dont remember him ever in a black suit- thought he always wore white?

Thanks for the kind words, gents.

Kingpin wore black a few times - once in a graphic novel I rather enjoyed and on the Daredevil Netflix series. I'm still looking for a bigger noggin for him.

Meanwhile I'm at work on another duo for the Guardians series.

Thanks again, guys.

I was worried I might be getting rusty with all the time off I took from customizing.

Here's the next Guardian for my growing cinematic galaxy:

Gamora was made using a RoC armored Scarlett base body, some shortened MU She-Hulk arms, a Star Wars head and some MU Mystique hair. I know she isn't 100% movie accurate, but she definitely borrows heavily from that look.

And all of her gear stows:

What do you guys think?

You should look towards these Covenant pistols from the old "Halo" mini figure line from Joy Ride Toys.

With minor mods, either style could work for Starlord's pistols.
