The caps are all attached to the heads, and they are all German soldier heads from the Indy line. They fit straight on to the CG neck ball, though I did mod them a bit to improve articulation. They are 2 different head sculpts, and the two that were alike I just painted a bit different to set them apart.

Oh wow, I never would have guessed! Great use of those heads, I'm impressed.

Ahhhh maaaannn Doc  you have gone and did it again......As if your Excall customs weren't cool enough you have to go and do the Medusa thing. Not fare man not fare, I'm still trying to get over Cleo that was easily one of my favorites from you.

I'm sorry I feel a Bruno moment from DWTS coming on.....LOL. Dude I am overly impressed and the details with the decals and the back story (which I think gives all customs a life of thier own) are all just incredible I am most def on the band wagon on these bad boys.

Thanks man. For being on some levels plain, it pleases me you guys see some of the finer details. You too Will. Thanks bro.

Tim, thanks as always friend.

Dan, thanks for the compliment that you couldn't even tell those were IJ heads. Mainly just painted them to give them any kind of different appearance at all.

The hardest part on the CGs were the parts I used that weren't originally from a CG - had a heck of a time matching the right shades of red.

These are all great. Medusa has a much more homogenous look, than Cobra. I also like the high counsal idea. Makes the name make even more sense.

Mythbusters for the win!

Wow, another great addition. Although, you must have read my mind, as I've have a squad called the WarP.I.G.S(Paranormal Investigating Guerrilla Soldiers) in the works for some time. Thirteen years actually, as it started as a comic/movie idea I had while I was in AIT. All around awesome figures, but I really like the Hendrix figure the most. With that name, head, and tats I get a soccer hooligan vibe from him. I might have to steal the idea off of you ans add either a kilt or those plaid pants with chains that old school punks used to wear.

I'm really digging the Medusa characters a lot more than I thought I would. I'm not a fan of Crimson. At all. I've got some CGs, but that's where it stops. I think for me, that's what separates these guys from a "Cobra" knock-off - because I don't consider red to be Cobra colors, so they work perfectly as a unique adversary for your Excal verse.

I love Gutz - I was wracking my brain trying to ID the head, then realized I have the dude sitting right here in the fodder bin  - great job all around on him - the waist-cape really adds to his uniqueness.

Striker is great - you really cleaned up that Shipwreck head and made it look decent. Very cool.

Cool ideas for Abdullah and Komodo - adds some nice variety to your grunts.

Hendrix looks awesome and I love the recipe - but the tattoos need cleaned up a bit, I think. They still look like they were Sharpie'd on - at least on the right arm and the neck. But I don't know how I would fix them (as I never even attempt that level of detail.) Some folks have mentioned drawing them in colored pencils before, but I can't remember the exact tips.

Love the idea for Frost - and the Galactic Marine head works perfectly, I think. I'm with Pluv in that the red works for me despite skepticism at first glance.

And I can't remember if you've shown Jamie & Adam "in public" before or not - but I know they're just as cool as when I first saw them. Incorporating them into your AT is a great idea. I forgot which head you used for Adam, though. The only thing I would change is Jamie's 'stache - the brown specks don't seem to blend well with the white/gray -- at least looking at the first pic, anyway.

Always great to see new additions to your 'verse, Dennis :D

So much awesome in one thread. Gutz and Hendrix are probably my faves, but something about that Red Viper is really grabbing me. Those parts look very striking together. Might have to borrow that one from you. Well done all around.

thanks again for the feedback guys.

GR - I'm glad you dig the whole high council - merged organizations bit. It was the best way I could think of to be able to do existing characters in a way that wasn't too scattered. This crew is all original, just because they are the uniformed military, but I will have some more known baddies coming on board.

Millsy - I hope I didn't pee in your cheerios by using the WarPig thing. And I hope you totally do yours just as you planned. I chose the name kind of on a whim, and it just so happened it was when the song came on the radio. I had considered making this unit be the Joker Squad (since there are some Star Warsy Storm Trooper inspirations to them), but since I may still have an actual Joker character to add to this verse, I decided to go with something different. The misfits might have worked too, had I added in more guys like Hendrix who are anything but regulation in appearance. Oh, and the kilt idea for a figure that looks like Hendrix is awesome. Hope to see you do that and post it.

LM - thanks man. The red viper was so easily constructed it isn't funny. I really only had to use a light red wash to get the parts to match also. The helmet took a little more obviously, and the Snow Serpent webbing is 90% sharpie on the conversion to black. But yeah, something about it speaks to me too, and I might make more of him. The part I liked best was when I decided to not use Viper legs, but the Resolute trooper legs instead. Plus, I think the Viper legs fit the look of the Council Guard more anyway.

Dan - you have a lot of good ideas for me here. I'm glad the red color scheme is an easy sell for you as a unique unit. I wanted to walk the fine line between something new, yet something heavily inspired by something old. Sounds like I did ok?

I was wondering how well the tats came out for Hendrix. I think the one on the back of the neck is the weakest by far, and I wasn't sure about the right arm. Sharpie? really? :shifty: Maybe I need to go the decal route instead. I found a sweet Black Sabbath logo - AFTER I got these done. That might be the solution for the one large tat for sure.

I'm not thrilled with Jamie's stach either, so I'll even out the paint for sure. The head is a VvV Wild Bill, if I'm not mistaken. I had hoped somebody might ask about his eyes. I painted the molded on glasses flesh tone, and then painted the eyes on those. Then I used yellow tinted transparent styrene and cut out little lenses which I glued over the top of each. The effect is that you can see the eyes, and they look slightly magnified just as when you are looking at someone through their glasses. Inspired? Probably just lucky. lol

Thanks again for the feedback guys. I'll post any edits I make in this thread.

I actually was going to comment on Jamie's eyes but forgot (I was pretty tired last night) - very cool effect - and much more involved than I imagined.

*tucks idea away for future reference.....*

:D

Excellent customs and character developments. I always look forward to your customs and bios. It's great to see your "universe" being further fleshed-out.
