That's a lot of cool stuff you made there!
I know the cartoon, but I'm not familiar with the boardgame/miniatures.

Those dragons, are they custom too? Do you have a single shot of the red one with the green armour? He looks awesome.

I'll give a more complete response tonight when I'm not on my phone - but the dragons are all "factory". The big one and the purple one are MegaBlocks toys, the one on the left is from Dragonheart, and the armoured one is Chap Mei (came with the 2-headed wolf).

Thanks Gents!

What if the Woodtroll was Bobbi all hulked out? A young kid convinced to join the dark side to do his master's bidding. Add a head trauma My Little Pony as an accessory and you have a custom full of win.

I still feel that that figure has a world- weary benevolent feel to it, but I really like this angle.

And have Unis head adorned on his shield as final proof of his descent into darkness.

Wowed.

It's crazy because my kids and I have been watching this cartoon lately (got the DVD as a gift). They love it and I'm frankly amazed by how well it holds up.

These are great interpretations of the characters.

Ok - I'm finally able to get to my PC and snag that close-up for Tim:

Image

I think he was actually listed as a gargoyle in the set.

EDIT -- while searching for online pics of the set, I was directed back here to JC.com, where JBYRDD already posted a review and pic a couple of years ago -- you can also see where Warduke's ride and Strongheart's head came from :D

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13252&p=147677

Appreciate all the feedback, guys -- Pluv, I really do like your idea of having Hulik (my new name for the Hulk Troll) actually be Bobby, but it doesn't quite work for what I've got in my head about the character. But I may very well use that idea and make a monster-Bobby now as a result.

And a little bit of D&D cartoon trivia - how cool is it that Venger was voiced by Optimus Prime and Uni was voiced by Megatron? :P

Can't tell you how happy I am to see that these made the light of day man. Disappointed to hear it's another drive-by, but if the reason is work and school, damn who can argue with that?

I love Sheila. Dare I say Nailed her? Yeah, I know, but couldn't think of a better way to say it. I think you made great use of the Loki figure too. I also agree the Thor figs are not as great for fodder as they could be, because of the horrid hips. But I still will find some uses, I am sure. Anyway, everything in here rocks. Will try to comment on each individually soon.

Glad you like them Dennis - especially Sheila - although I still think your fascination with her is a little creepy (she was only 13-14 yrs old in the 'toon, dude) :P

I just realized you don't have Eric. I've seen some people use the Spiderman line Goblin or Hobgoblin for knights and that may be perfect for him. Although a Thor movie figure might fit with the older more mature group you have going.

Yeah, but I was like 11 or 12 then, so it's all good...

I don't think he left Eric out for a lack of parts, but instead for a lack of caring. It was a douchebag character, but he could be a visually striking custom.

Are you saying he foe'd Eric from the Dungeons & Dragons group? That's cold even for Chief.

Wanted to give it a grittier feel than the 'toon, obviously, so I fast-forwarded the timeline 20 years - the kids are all in their mid-late 30s now. Eric & Bobby are dead (because I disliked them when I was a kid and still do - so they weren't worth the fodder pieces & paint.) - They are a little jaded and a lot darker in personality. In the "epic" battle that killed , er, Eric and Bobby, Dungeon Master was also killed, so Teddy (Presto) had to step up and fill that role. He's actually one of the more powerful magicians in the realm now, but his loss of innocence drained most of his personality. Sheila & Diana are basically the same, just older, wiser, and lethal. Sheila occasionally suffers bouts of depression due to her brother's death, but is always able to focus during battle. Hank was the hardest hit of the survivors - carrying the guilt of their deaths and feeling responsible for failing them as their de facto leader. As a result, he is more ruthless in battle, yet more protective of his remaining friends - and slow to forge new relationships for fear of losing another member of the "family."

Words words words, blah blah blah....

Great customs as usual!

I showed them to my 12 year old and he loved them too.
I just bought the entire series from Amazon, and introduced my boys to the show last week, so he was a little tickled to see customs of them. :)
