A C-130 seems to be the obvious choice, but I like the idea of a ground smuggling operation and I could see the ROCC as a huge rig.
The back could be a huge cargo area with secret compartments.
You could make Solo and Chewie as truckers.

I like the idea of the C-130. One suggestion I would make is to maybe try to work in some sort of pop-out booster rockets to mimic the Falcon's hyperdrive.

I believe the Blue Angels Hercules plane does a short runway take-off maneuver using rockets that would be a really cool addition to this plane. Like Pyre said, they could be considered the hyperdrive equivalent.

Am I the only one who thinks this could be crazy awesome? I say go for it and I can't wait to see the result. Cover the Falcon in camo paint and I don't think it'll clash as much as some think. Right now, the squared off look really makes it work as a tank.

I think if you're doing a pure Joe-ification, this could work (the Milennium tank I mean). If doing "real world" takes on them, whatever that means, I think a chopper or the C-130 are the best bets. This has inspired me to pick up an old idea I referenced before though, and make a more militarized/modern merc version of Han to pilot my C-130. I won't borrow too directly from your Chewie here, but I have been inspired by the thread, and have one started now too.

I think most of the salient points have been captured, but I think the bashing of an actual MF onto a tank creates more of a SW-verse vibe than a Joe-verse vibe (kind of like an ugly star fighter mash-up).

But when thinking of the MF, several things come to mind:
Mandibles
boarding ramp
offset cockpit
glassed in cockpit
top(and bottom) guns
the six circular top vents
and the white but beat-up/rusty paint scheme.

some ideas:

The Moray for sea smuggling, with some sort of glassed in or more prominent cockpit on the right side (plus it has smuggling compartments and a top gunner already)

The Night attack chopper as already mentioned, but with some sort of refuel probe on the right side. Tomahawk could also work well in this capacity.

Moccasin. already has the mandibles, top gun and smuggling compartments but suffers from being very small and not very MF-sized

Possibly Desto's dominator. it is already a bit funky/lopsided......

The Joe Killer Whale?

Whichever way you go though, I think the paint job/circular vents will really tell the tale.

Looking forward to it.

That's awesome! It would make sense too. Since Han is a smuggler he would probably need to make quick take offs like that when in a bind.
