DJ, the head on the female is from a Harry Potter figure. I'm hoping to make her appear older with some paint, otherwise, I'll have to find a different one.

Luna Lovegood.

And no I am not making that up, no matter how fitting it would be as a bond girl name.

Give Gandalf an E-Cig.

Not Kwinn reminds me of a Jackie Chan/Jet Li type commando/spy. Hong Kong SWAT type guy I guess.

Well, people don't like the cigar, you don't like the pipe, at this point it's an E-Cig or a hookah.

Yeah, I realized it was Luna right after the good doctor said it was a Harry Potter figure head.

Hmmm, I already have 4 possible Bond Girl names for my (eventual) 007 story I idea.

have VTS Rodimus cast up a psychic/magical cigar or pipe in translucent plastic!

I want to see Excal Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, and Boromir now.

"I am Gandalf! And Gandalf means...me."

I love love love that modern world vision of Gandalf the Gray. He looks like he's ready to kick the ass out of Orcs and Taliban terrorists. But is he still plagued by that balrog demon trauma?

Thanks JD!

I'm not sure if a larger LoTR theme is to come of this or not. As to the demon question, since he's mostly in gray at the moment, I'd wager that is something yet to come. What should the Balrog be? a literal demon, that let's me cross over into some monster hunters? Or a code name for something only Gandalf can tackle?

Either way, you've planted the seed that makes me want to see him done up all in white now ;)

The other thing I like about this figure is that in a pinch I could say he is a future incarnation of the Doctor, and he'd look totally believable in the role... Now THERE's a cross-over for you.

well I just figured you went with The Grey because it's more iconic to represent the character overall vs The White, I hadn't considered the implication that he hadn't encountered the demon yet in the Excal verse. But on that note what if the balrog was Malebolgia? Wizard-like Timelord Gandalf fighting the creator of the Spawns throughout all Time...

Eat it, Saruman the Wise. Take Grima and go work for Blackheart instead.

Those are awesome.
That head on Gandalf is pretty cool. Good call. Anybody have a cast of it?

The AT guys look good, but they like a little variety. Maybe give one some cargo pants instead of shorts, maybe a little change of colors here and there.

I'm thinking of a different route for the Adventurers. My Adventure Team will likely be a roster of named character all-stars. and there's no need for troop builders with that.

So...this little safari group here will likely end up being the bad guys of the AT story arc.

In the middle of the pic is wealthy scientist and collector Dr. _______. He has hand-picked a team of adventuring mercenaries to accompany him on his latest expedition. They wear the uniform because teh eccentric doctor insists upon it. Clearly he is living out his own childhood adventure here, and he won't let anyone stop him from having it just his way. That includes not letting international laws stop him from poaching, stealing, digging up or destroying anything he feels he needs to fulfill his desired adventure.

On the left of the pic is ___________, the cut-throat head of "security" for his team. When asked for his opinion on the next course of action, you can bet his answer will involve killing something. On the right of the pic is the most level headed man on this expedition, __________ a doctor (of veterinary medicine) in his own right, he feels compelled to take this job for the financial security of his family, yet does so with much reservation. He has vowed that he will use the position to do good. To save who and what can be saved, and to mitigate the losses he know will come, even if his affiliation with the endeavor ultimately will taint his own name. Not unexpectedly, Dr._______(the vet) has already grown to greatly dislike the team's head of security.

Anyway, that's kind of loosely what's banging around in my mind.

I feel that's still the best contemporary counterpart anyway.

You know, I glanced at the images before reading the text... and I thought for sure what you'd done was a custom of John Hurt's mysterious "new old Doctor" from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special...

Does he die and resurrect after an alien explodes through her chest?

I'll say only that the resemblance is not a complete coincidence
