Nicely done...I'm always impressed people take the time to give Transformers full on Paint jobs...I don't think I could do it given the number of possible locations for paint to rub. Do you do anything special to minimize paint rub?
That Wreck-Gar mold always struck me as a bit too big for Joes...but it works quite well here.
Not sure if it would interfere with the transformation, but did you consider using the front faring from the Ram... just to give it that one last solid tie to the vehicle you're aiming for.
Paint rub is always a turn off but sometimes it is an inevitable part of customizing. There are a few things you can do however to minimize its effects.
First you need to wash off the oils of the figure and then sand the plastic with a fine grit sand paper because it helps the paint stick better.
Next you could dismantle the figure and dremel down the joints that you know will rub ( I generally don't do this to be honest with you and for the most part I get very little paint rub on my transformers)
Also, the paints used make a difference, the higher quality of the paint, the less susceptible it will be to joint rub. I prefer for TF and vehicle plastics testors rattle can spray paints and small bottles of Model Master Acryl.
Allowing enough time for your paint to cure is also very important, I will give it a day or two for it to fully cure, you can also lightly use a blow dryer set on low just to air dry some of the wet paint. Another trick is once the paint cures, put the figure inside a zip lock bag and place it inside the fridge. Something about cold temperatures makes acrylic paint almost indestructible. Adding a drop of superglue on joints that rub usually protects it as well.
The last thing is sealant, you can use Testors dull coat spray lacquer or Krylon clear finish (if you want it to shine) Honestly I use these very little because I like how the acrylic paints look.
I hope this helps man.
And the ram cycle front would interfere with the transformation so I scrapped the idea of replacing it. The thought did cross my mind though.
