You hit this project out of the park. Paints and parts look production. And the photos hit me in the old toy catalog nostalgia.

But I agree with Suntzu that you’ve really added relevance to those 25th parts. Like you, the 25th line brought me back to this world. But my eye quickly wandered with each new Joe upgrade and each new non-Joe line.

This kind of thing really breathes new life into it.

Also it was great meeting you this weekend at AR!

Yeah, it was cool to meet you as well! Most of what I've put up here and the short future are pretty much devoid of backgrounds and scenery, left neutral. Mostly it's to help frame the figure's build and paint colors (especially during post color correction),but also cuz I wanted to spend my time and money on figures. But with the rigid insulation tricks you guys demonstrated, I'm really interested in taking some baby steps into more background work.

I first posted these guys in 2017, which marks about 10 years since the start of the 25th. And at the time, I figured all the Joe sites would slowly start shutting down and considered this and end bookmark of the modern 3.75 line. So it's nice to know that some sites are still kicking, but that this set still has resonance to fans--especially given the amount of customs that have been posted for so many years.

For the 25th parts, the 2007 Snake Eyes has some flaws (really short and skinny lower torso, somewhat skinny legs), but is still one of the best overall figure molds prior to the POC stuff--but really only works for the 82 Joes. So with this set, I stay mainly with that figure, stay away from some of the inferior 2007-2009 parts and the superior 2010+ parts.

The "visual checklist" was only recently done and let me see all these guys in a new context based on the raw nostalgia of the presentation and arrangement. I just want folks to print this out, take some crayons and mark up the ones they have and the ones they want for Christmas this year--then post it on their fridge (people still have fridges these days?).

This would have made a fantastic con set. Looks awesome. I really like the different shades of green on the Joes.

Thanks. I'd also like to think this would have made a great con set, but wasn't sure people would like all the 25th parts use (and the crazy amount of parts sharing). I also remember the uproar on Red Pads Grand Slam being the mystery FSS 13th figure. So if someone at Hasbro had "taken" the idea and the execution, I'd be mortified if there were fuss and fan rage.

And I'm really glad you and others see the different greens as a positive thing. Somedays I think this set is too colorful (??), and that I should repaint going back to only three greens (dark for "artillery", olive medium for "infantry", and some other for "Hawk"). I only went to the all unique greens because for the part swapping, trying to keep some of the figures unpainted as molded (4 of the 10 greenshirts, could've been 5-6 if not for some required size helmets and lower legs), and finally not wanting an odd matching pair or trio of figures.

Almost tempted to paint them all primer grey, photograph, then photoshop color based on daily mood (the things you learn at AR)...

Sorry we didn't get to really meet at AR (the other guys did point you out though). I've been a big fan your stuff for years.
