Yeah, I gotta say the same. You've done some nice work so don't take this wrong, but this is the best custom you've made. Really nice work. Great detail and now whatever Hasbro makes, it probably won't even come close to this.

When you kick the customizing community in the nuts, you really strap on the steel-toe size 13 boots, don't ya?

I gotta' tell ya'... I really love this thing.. I tend to really like everything you do, but this is just fantastic. I love the accessory laden feel of this guy which was my favorite part of the original as a kid. I loved strapping all those accessories to the figure and have him trudge through the frozen tundra. And this guy makes you feel the cold, y'know? It must be all the masterful drybrushing that does it. Makes him feel frost covered.

I had started a Snow Job custom awhile back using a Flint body and a Han Solo Hoth head that I got pretty far with, but decided to shelve it after seeing the first preview pics of Hasbro's offering. I think I'm going to pick it up again and turn him into a Cobra Arctic trooper using yours as inspiration. You've really inspired me here. Great, great job.

Mike

The good - At first I wasn't sold on the Moray helmet, but the more I thought about the more I like it. I mean the Snow Serpents are just the arctic trained wing of the EELs so it works. All the fur additions are smooth. The painting is superb as is expected from you. You made that gun look like it was made for that figure. Did you make that pick or get it from another figure because it looks fantastic and very realistic. If I didn't know better I'd swear that back pack came straight from the factory like that.

The not so good - I know the Viper has goggles on top of a visor but having them here seems just as redundant. I always assumed the original SS had goggles on his helmet because the mask didn't actually cover his eyes. They just never painted it. So here we have visored eyes with goggles. It just doesn't work. Maybe the goggles could hang off him elsewhere for when he takes his helmet off.

The pouches on the front are so big they are distracting. I think smaller pouches would have given you the look you wanted without making him goofy in a beach head kind of way with all the extra ammo. Besides, if he's carrying all the stuff in those pouches, what's in his rucksack?

I'm also not a fan of the case hanging off his leg. Maybe that is a personal beef because I hate hiking with anything attached to my leg. I just don't see how anyone could have something that cumbersome dangling off an extremity like that. I'm glad you made it removable.

Interesting points Pluv, it's hard to see what I was going for without explaining, huh?

The Moray helmet? Didnt even know it was a Moray head! TheUnknown sent me this custom cast head as a gift, this is just what I happen to use it for. The goggles are pretty much just a homage to v.1, nuthin more.

The pouches are too big. They were a last minute addition when what I wanted to do with that part of the figure fell through, I coulda made them fit a bit better, but I had so much of the surrounding painting done, I was afraid I was gonna screw it up!

And the case off the leg? Well, that's just his rifle case for when he jumps out of the airplane. :-) I couldnt figure out a way to demonstrate that in just pictures.
