Here is some more WIP stuff. The main rotar is proving to be exceptionally difficult. Getting it to fit and spin and collapse is really kind of .... :shifty: Its pretty much working out in baby steps.

Its getting there its just taking some time. Rotor arms colapse back and the joint at the bike will need some help to avoid getting really loose over time. The back wheel is painted and works just fine - wheel spins and everything. Though the transforming action is very stiff. You need to tweek it a bit to fit inbetween the arms of the back carrage.

I am not to big on the actual mask looking masks...remember this is not only scaling up but an update as well. The original condor looks more like a scooter than a crotch rocket to me so I will just be going with that idea.

When this is finished I will be working on a Pirannha, Gator, and Firefly - but not in that order. I would really love to crank out the Firefly first. I have one of those three seater dune buggys from BBI that I plan to use. So not only is it a buggy and airplane but it will have an extra turret as well. AT this point have no idea if I can get the bomb action thing to carry over or not. I will have bombs for it but as yet nothing snaps up for the opening bottom part. What I am thinking is just a hatch that you would open, the bomb falls out, and so on.

So far so good on the Condor.

Yeah man, that's coming along nice!

That bbi DPV should make an awesome Firefly update! I'll be interested to see a Piranha too!

That is looking cool. I've had a few others that I'll end up doing, but mine are G.I.Joe vehicles. It'll be cool seeing your's since you're tackling MASK with the figures and all.

The others are at different stages of being done. I'm doing an updated Crossfire that'll have the Firefly's transformation. I've got a lot of the sheet plastic cut and ready, plus I've been debating using some tires I made a sculpt of or some that I found from an RC car. I just gotta get at it and finish it.

Other's that I've started but haven't got very far are a command center pretty much like the Outlaw, a vehicle with a plane like the Slingshot, and something that would be like the Raven. I figure that'll round out my group. The Outlaw like vehicle is an APC that I'm hand building (which is why I haven't gotten very far). The Slingshot right now is just tires and a launch plateform since I haven't decided what vehicle body to use (I have a few that I'm considering). The Raven is just an idea right now (a few rough drawing). All of them I want to stick to military colors and such.

My jet that I'm scratch building is what was taking my time. I ran into some issues with it and haven't worked on it since just before Christmas. The fuselarge is being a pain to shape out. I really need a CNC machine, hehe. I may still get one which will really cut down some of my sculpting time.

But yeah, I want to see what you come up with. I'll be keeping an eye out. If you run into anything that you think I might be able to help out on with advice, let me know.

The old MASK Condor is a personal favorite toy of mine. This custom brings massive amounts of win. Cannot wait to see it finished. If MASK ever returned in 3 3/4" scale I think I might die of awesome. Great job.

So after about a week or two of trying to make the rotor work like it should, I just gave up on the parts I was attempting to use. At that point I took an extended brake on this project to avoid having this frustration carry over into shoddy work.

So I when I felt like it again a number of days ago I went to the hinge drawer and got a busted little transformer. The end result was a rotor that spins and with blades that fold down.

Now to add some detail to the rotor head to cover the holes and make it look mechanical. Then to paint and finish the figure.

Sucky part so far, bike does not come with a kick stand.

Very very cool. I had wondered what happened to this project.

Nice work figuring out the rotor!

Now, you're going to hate me. With the pivot where it is, aren't the rider's legs in the way of a transformation?

Some thicker leg figures will not fit at all, some will fit better. As for being in the direct way the posts that anchor the bar sit just before the chin and knee.

The figure does move when you transform it. There is some transformation loss with tall figures too. Getting it to full transformation requires ducking the figure. My VvV figure sits just fine on it, transforming in this way. JvC stuff is generally to thick and tall and Rah don't fit at all. Nevermind that Rah will not fit the bike before modding.

Oddly enough, and what is cool as all get out. SHS and 25th Joes seem to fit the best, due to their slimmer shoulders, leg and arm articulation, and the torso joint.

I opted to extend the bars out wided and to make them longer, but then it makes it look all kinds of strange due to not matching the bike lines and making in look too bulky.

Very cool...it's great to see a project like this come from it's initial design steps all the way to a finished concept.

Now that you've got the engineering down...are you considering going back to work the asthetics?

I think with a little bit of work you could modd the propeller assembly a bit more so it looks more like part of the bike and less like 2x4s bolted on.

Maybe even bring them all the way down to the ground so they could act as weelie bars on a drag bike

Actually the bar already moves that far down, but thats not such a bad idea, it certainlly would stand up by itself.

Yes I do plan to totally work on the over all look of the main rotar system. I have a machiney things to add to make it more helicopter like, then I have some machinery componants that are very thin and very flat to attach to the sides, and then of course paint on the bright blue, and green stuff.

Oh and for those of you wanting to take on something like this Big Lots has these bikes on sale for about 4.00 each. Red, Blue, green, and I think black. There one hundred percent plastic (beyond the shafts and screws) and come apart very nicely. The shafts pop right out with just a little push.

Here is Brad Turner. This picture doesn't really capture the purple very well but you can see it on others. I will get some better ones later on, but so far so good.

The Condor is now awaiting paint apps to unify the colors.
