…And some of Sneak's buddies. Would've submitted them, but they're not new pieces, and they've been featured in other projects/images previously. With Sneak, I wanted someone tiny on the team that could actually be one of the heavy hitters...

Great custom and backstory

Thank you Dusty!

He's from a sci-fi project I've been working on for a bit, joining some diverse characters that I've featured in some past projects. Just sorta sprang to life when I thought about creating a little dude that was a cross between a Jawa and Garindan from Star Wars.

That is some seriously awesome "LASER BLAST" right there.
Definitely going to need some recipes so I can start gathering parts. :shifty:

Gents, thank you thank you thank you!

The crew is made up primarily of a jumble of Star Wars parts. Lots of droid parts, plus random greebles I had been storing in my toolbox for such a purpose. Igok (the tall pink dude) is Chewbacca bashed onto Joe legs & waist. The whole crew is inspired by sci-fi toys from the late 70s-early 80s.

Sneak was produced when I sorta went on a Mega Bloks customizing binge. Those little buggers are a ton of fun to work with. Got flashbacks to 25+ years ago when I started experimenting with limb and head swaps.

During the time I built Sneak for NJC #85, I was working on a bunch of other Mega Bloks-based customs. Some were original concepts, others were like Mega Man here, which is part of a series where I re-interpret pop culture characters. Attempted to make this guy a few different times (in 1:18 scale), but he just seemed to work better as a minifig.

Mega Man (or Rockman, if you prefer) was made from a Mega Bloks HALO figure with a random plastic astronaut head I found in the fodder bin, as well as a Mega Bloks cylinder piece for his arm cannon.

These little dudes are fun mini projects after taking on things that take weeks or months to build, and remind me of when I first started customizing as a kid.

awesome round of customs, Dr. Love the vintage sci-fi feel, and glad to see your contribution to the Cantina.

Howdy Doc! Thank you!

Been working on a bunch of things, but sci-fi's been on the brain. Now that I made some necessary tweaks to one of my main good guys, there'll be a whole bunch of retro/pulpy awesomeness coming this way.

The dioramas and figures are out for photo shoots tonight, matter of fact :shifty:

Oh, and since Halloween is my favorite holiday, you bet I'll have something ready for NJC #86. Been doing some research for creatures a little off the beaten path...

Wow... some really fun stuff going on here. Sneak's trio of friends look like they're straight out of the old Marvel Star Wars comics. Colorfull and quirky, I like 'em!

Really interesting take on Mega-Man! Cool use of less traditional parts to make a smaller but still formidable looking character.

Keep up the great work!

Dan! Dude! I'm so sorry for the late reply, but thank you so much!

I've been a huge fan of your work for a long time now (those World War 2 Ghostbusters, tho!!), so thank you for your kind words and your inspiration! Though I don't post too often, I've been busy in the Lab working on a ton of new projects, in a brand-new scale for me.

What started as an experiment is now a full-on transition from 4" customs to 2"-2.5"… over the past few months, I've accumulated a decent number of pieces while messing around, enough to do something I'm calling MegaMonday:

New Megabloks-scale customs every Monday (hopefully). This month's theme is Characters I Love, starting with a character I've loved since I was a toddler-- THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

Ol' Jade Jaws is a Megabloks body kitbashed together with a Hulk PVC figure I found in my fodder bin. The shredded fabric around his waist was sculpted with putty. Here he is with a vintage Capsela Capsenaut and LEGO Spaceman for scale.

LOTS MORE TO COME. SEE YA NEXT MONDAY!

I'm always on the cusp of being outright bored of looking at customs on various sites due to seeing the same types of customs repeatedly. The last two images on this page brought a big smile to my face . . Seeing a different type of character and a different scale (Mega Bloks !) to boot? Full of win.

That HULK Mega Bloks figure is everything i've wanted from a mini action figure EVER. I bought several Mega Bloks TMNT Villain packs for the exact purpose of creating something along these lines (grey hulk crossed my mind at one point). Effing Bravo man!

AV! Thank you so much! Dude, your Megabloks customs and vast, inter-connected universe are both inspirational and breath-taking. Your detailed custom universe showed me it's okay to take the best of established lore and make it my own. Thank you!

Thank you! Had to do justice to Mr. Green Genes. He's been a favorite since I was a little guy. I had a 10"-12" non-articulated Hulk (from the late 70s) as a toddler that I was obsessed with.

Glad to hear I could make your Monday suck less! The plan is to make MegaMonday a regular thing for a little bit. Got at least 2 more characters (non-Marvel) 100% done, working on the rest. Psyched for you guys to check them out!

I don't even know where to start, aside from THANK YOU!

It's crazy, but these Megabloks sets have me just as stoked as I was when I was a little boy, for GI JOES & LEGO. The Call of Duty line is just the perfect fusion. If I was a kid now, ALL my allowance would be spent on MBs... I haven't felt this motivated to work on customs in a very long time.

For the cost, ease of assembly/disassembly, quality, and customizability, you can't beat them. For the cost of one 4" figure, I can pretty much buy a set of 4-5 minifigures, or a small vehicle. PLUS they're all pretty much interchangeable? Sold!

Based on fun alone, I wouldn't be surprised if we started seeing a lot more customs at this scale.

Thanks again, so much, everybody!

See ya next Monday!
