I think Major Force works better the way you did him, like a friggin' tank. Perfect.

I love the look of your Major Force but I would stick with the MU hands and feet, the Infinite Heroes one look too tiny on the large frame.

Thanks for the thoughts on the Bad Major, guys. I may revisit those hands.

Meanwhile, here's a cool dude I've been laboring over since I finished playing Arkham City:

It took quite some time to accumulate the pieces I knew I needed for him, so I had to be pretty patient. The shoulder armor and gauntlets are from a Captain America deluxe movie figure that I just couldn't bring myself to buy until I found it on clearance. The codpiece and lower legs are from an Iron Man 2 comic series Whiplash. The helmet is modded from a 25th comic-pack Ace. The backpack is from a comic-pack Resolute Destro. The gun is modified from a comic-pack 25th Cobra Commander. The body is primarily Dark Spider Man from the now-elusive comic 2-pack and the head is a modified DC Universe Infinite Heroes Lex Luthor with goggles off an old SpyTroops Sand Viper figure's helmet.

Here's how he looks from the back:

All the paint was custom mixed with metallics and took days between coats to dry, especially on the head.

Here's a shot of him changing out his suit's cooling core, which was made from a Star Wars lightsaber:

To occupy the down time between part shipments and paint drying on Mr. Freeze, I went back and revisited my Kalibak design. The comments were pretty focused on his colors being too bright, which I addressed in version 2.0, but I also decided to go for a slightly more traditional overall look. After consulting with my resident expert (six-year-old son), I settled on the JLU animated universe aesthetic:

So what do you guys think?

Man, Mr Freeze is just awesome. Just the right amount of bulk.

Is that the Super Powers head on Kalibak? He's fearsome looking. And I agree about Major Force being suitably bulky, I think that's the way to go with him. Freeze is the star of the show though. Love all the gear and think you chose a great head for him.

your patience really paid off Spin, I'd say Mr. Freeze is perhaps your best figure yet. The work on the head is impressive and really really sells it. The paints take that crazy mish mash of parts you describe and make them look cohesive and factory produced. Bravo.

Both are awesome, but I have to agree Freeze is your best work to date and the best Freeze custom period! That is saying a lot as there are a wide variety of them out there, many of which are done incredibly well! Really incredible job!

Thanks, guys. I'm really glad the time and effort put into Freeze shows.

What do folks think of Kalibak? For some reason i feel like something's not quite "finished" about him.

Does he need a sash or something across his chest?

So to get ready for Independence Day, I thought I'd take swing at Batman's dependent:

The base figure was the DC Infinite Heroes Robin, but that needed LOTS of work. To increase his articulation, I bashed the crotch from an MU Hand Ninja onto the body. Then I took some shoulders off of an old Marvel legends Showdown Daredevil and used them as ball joints on the hip pegs. I drilled recesses into the tops of the original Robin thighs and popped them onto these ball joints. Then I bashed the lower legs and feet from a Marvel Legends Showdown black Spider-man onto his calves to give him rocker ankles and another piece of leg articulation. I also replaced his right hand with one from a Black Widow I'd cannibalized. Finally, I modded a young Anakin head with a bat-stylized domino mask and painted the hair:
