Up next is the H.I.S.S. Driver. I wanted to take the chest shield I loved about the modern H.I.S.S. Driver, but make it more rugged, almost Mad Max like with bigger gear. I love the arrows on the helmet, but wanted to give the idea that these guys were loaded up with armor as their tanks were so light and they are so exposed. I continued the theme from the first wave of having Cobra sigils sprayed onto the body armor, too.

Destro has been a character I’ve wanted to paint for awhile. I wanted a mix of sorcery and technology with him, as I’ve seen him as the Joe Universe’s Doctor Doom. Not outright magic, but the look of the background reflects this. I also thought that he’d wear almost a warsuit with cybernetics into combat, always being on the edge of what modern warfare will be like. Let me know what you think!

I do like that Destro. I've always liked a more techno look over the big collar and open shirt version.

Snow Job was a big favorite in my neighborhood growing up, as well as in the comic and in the cartoon. I wanted to create a more military version of him, with the arctic digital camo look, as well as incorporate what worked so well with his second Modern Era version. I also changed out the gun to make it more of a sharpshooter’s weapon. I was tempted to give him a laser gun ala the cartoon, but I resisted.

Tripwire, well, I never liked the guy. His mines would get lost. He was a klutz. And he never seemed like a soldier you wanted to have your back. I changed this up and went all Hurt Locker on him. I ended up with a Tripwire I love, particularly with the edition of the mine robot.

Gung-Ho should not look like a Village Person. I love the movie version that came out at Target, so this is my attempt to take what I like from the original: the grenade launcher, the hat, the colors and the face. So this is a rugged, torn up, older version of Gung-Ho who can still kick some ass. I’m really happy with how he came out.

I spent weeks as a kid trying to find Torpedo, as he and Major Bludd released later in the second wave. He was totally worth it with the removable flippers, the awesome backpack and a different color scheme than any other Joe. He remains one of my favorites and I hope that you guys like this version.

Major Bludd was the toughest Joe to find as a kid, so he instantly became my favorite when I got him. The cybernetic arm and missing eye helped, too. I went for a Major Bludd that has seen the world, as evidenced by his Bludd Pack, SAS and Foreign Legion patches. I took the cape from the DTC figure and the spray painted armor from my Wave 1 Cobra troopers.

I've been following along, I think my favorites have been flash, cobra commander and now bludd.

Here's my last series 2 Reimagined G.I. Joe. A mail-away...Duke! Hope everyone digs it! I stayed close to the classic, changed up the gun a bit. Sideshow did it so well, I stayed close to that with a few subtle tweaks.
