Since I've updated the default figure for Ajax/Knighthawk, and also the cold weather gear version, I figure I may as well update the civilian version. The old one used ROC/POC Cobra Commander parts on a cobra trooper torso modded to have a tie. It never quite fit what I wanted (though I am updating that also for a futuristic type suit and tie look).

Anyway, here I wanted a civilian body that could be versatile for any number of head swaps, but also more accurately depict me as a true self custom. The ability to also use it for off-duty Ajax in the scifi verse, or as undercover KH in EXCAL is a bonus. I actually see it being used a lot as KH for awhile, given where I plan to take that story.

You can see here the Prof X head, before the mods to make it more my own

Great figure. Where's the coat from? Love the pistol at his feet I have the same one.

The coat is Avengers Nick Fury. Very nice feel to it, not restrictive of movement.

You're right on the gun at his feet too. I feel like it's a nice find only because I usually chuck those True Heroes guns on sight. lol. I cut this one up a bit to be more useable, but I dig it.

I agree that it is a very modern look which will play to both universes nicely.

Great work on that civilian get-up. Considering it saved to the HD for future inspirational use :)

Thanks for the comments guys! (And welcome to a new name as well, Zarzak!) I haven't made a ton of progress on civvy KH here, because of getting sidetracked and not feeling well. I have painted the pants, and removed that vulcan brow to be able to start painting the head though.

One of the diversions I had recently was seeing Iron Man 3 with my son, which spurred me into starting up another of my long planned projects. I have an old Tony Stark somewhere in the gallery, but after finally tracking down a cast RDJ head, I decided to move forward anew. I have variant figures planned (including some unmasked armors). But rather than wait for all of it at once, here's a preview, since I'm way too impatient anyway. lol. I am calling it a WIP only until I can snap some pics in my preferred photo box set-up:

I love that Tony Stark. I really want to try and update mine. I saw IM3 on Saturday and have been bugged by trying to get a decent movie version of Iron Patriot.
That is probably THE best Tony Stark figure I've ever seen. Great work.

any suggestions for better legs, or at least lower legs? I don't want suit pant type legs. I agree the kneepads are not screen accurate. Whether they work for an in-shop look or not is maybe questionable.

He's still a WIP so I'm open to ideas. I do like the color and the cargo style. Don't know how it would look to just swap out the knees, given the sculpted strap details.

...pondering.

I think its very suitable garage attire for tony even if not screen accurate it looks like something he has in his closet and I agree with sector_15 best tony stark I have seen

I don't think you need to switch the lower legs, just the knees. A pair of Storm Shadow knees might work?

yeah, garage attire was where I was thinking when I used them - more than tactical. You can go to any hardware store and find knee pads just like these.

and thanks.

In addition to being generally useful in a garage anyway (and I was inspired more by the way Tony worked his shop in the first movie more than IM3, i.e. a bit more hands on), I also think they could be useful in testing out prototype suit pieces...

which led me to this Hot Toys version of Tony:

I know the clothes are different, but like I said, I'm shooting for authenticity in style more than screen accuracy. And that pic helps settle it for me, because I am starting to really dig his look. I love the input though, and it helped me turn a critical eye here to decide what I wanted out of this figure. Sometimes I take the critique and run with it, but I think here I'm good.

Thanks again for the honest feedback all.
