I love these giant tformers you are doing. On the painting, what is the process? i see you start with silver, and then what? Spray over it? Is that to get the metallic look?

roguetiger- Na, I don't have that Nissan van.
KrymsynGard666- I usuallyspray them all black. Then if it's a lighter color, or I want it to pop I spray it silver. Then the final coat.

Here's the head I sculpted (my first attempt at a Transformer head.) I think the size is much better.

I also have two weapons in the works for him.

John, I love the scale of the figs, and the scope of the project. Just wish I had a better appreciation for Transformers in general. I can tell the work is awesome, I just don't have enough knowledge to appreciate the details as I'd like.

all of the work in this whole thread is pretty amazing!

possibly one suggestion for the thread....maybe its too much to ask, but have an index on the first post with thumbnails and page numbers for all the various projects. it would help greatly for anyone wanting to go back and reference stuff without having to trudge through 37 pages. i for one have gone back through this thread at least 3 times.

The expression on the face works so well. Like the sculpt isn't perfect, good but not perfect, but the character in the facial expression is so evident that I'm able to look past any nit picking.

Thanks, everyone.

dragongravy- I'll see what I can do. If not for this thread then next years for sure. That was a great idea I hadn't thought of. And it would help me out too.

Thanks, Tim. The symbols are 3D stickers that I painted with clear red. I'm waiting on the clear purple for the Decepticon ones.

Did some touch up work- smoothed out the face some more and repainted a bit....

Scope UK, killuminati, Obi-Shinobi and RusForce- these are all people that really have a gift for soft goods in 1:18th scale. I really admire them for that. I'm glad they share their work.

I decided to give the glue method a try today. I've always sewn everything in the past.
It was a slow day at work, so I scavenged the store and found a bottle of fabric glue and a drop cloth. This is what I came up with (still some work to do. I'm hoping to find the left over rivets from Prime to add to the pouches. And painting. )....

I'm pleased so far, but am certainly open to feedback and or critiques.

Thanks!

The soft goods soldier looks great, nice job and especially using glue.
