Thanks for the feedback fellas.

Next are just a couple of LBC's.

Wolverine is just a head swap. MU comic pack black costume Wolverine head on a XO:W brown costume Wolverine body.
Not my favorite head sculpt, but I really enjoyed the period of comics that it is based on, and they did a great job capturing the look.

Gambit is the head from an XO:W Gambit on the body of a MU comic pack Gambit. The coat is from a DCIH Hush figure, his right hand is from an Intoyz SWAT figure, and the cards were made using card stock and markers. The scarf needed modding in the back to get it to fit under that coat.

Black Widow is not modified.

I have all the parts to copy Gambit and Wolvie, so that's going to happen.

Been a while since I've posted anything, even though I have been working on a few things.
I just finished this little project, so I figured I'd throw them on here.

Guardians of the Galaxy

I really liked the way the Guardians were portrayed on The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and especially liked that they included Adam Warlock on the team. So I figured he was a good way to add to the small part of the team that came in the Marvel Universe team pack. The other obvious addition had to be Groot.

Adam Warlock is a simple parts swap.
A Star Lord figure with his chest emblem removed, and Adam Warlock head and cape added.
Not 100% the way he appeared in the show, but I am very pleased with the way he turned out.

Groot was a little more of an involved project.
At first I just planned to sculpt a uniform on to a LOTR TreeBeard figure, but scrapped that plan after receiving the TreeBeard figure in the mail. What I ended up doing was using a Marvel Select Ghost Rider figure with TreeBeard's arms and legs added. His head is a completely new sculpt using pieces from the TreeBeard figure and Green Stuff.
One thing I found about Groot while researching his facial features, is that his appearance depends greatly on what artist is drawing him. Some images had leaves on his head, some didn't so I just drilled some small holes to add the small leafed branches to his head, but they are not glued in, so I can remove them whenever I want to.

That Groot rocks! I bought a Treebeard for the same thing (the smaller version, though), but I also was disappointed when I got him in-hand. This gives me SO many ideas to finally get my Groot off the ground.

Awesome stuff, man - we gonna see Gamora or Phyla-Vell any time soon?

I'm not familiar with the Guardians of the Galaxy, other than knowing they are a Marvel team.

I did pick up the MU set recently and looked into the characters.

I have to say that this Groot turned out really well.

Which TreeBeard do you have? I used a smaller TreeBeard too. There is the larger 17" electronic version and an 8" version with a swinging arm and moving mouth feature. I used the 8" version.

Gamora is a definite possibility, especially once the She-Hulk figure comes out.
I've already been eyeing parts for a Phyla-Vell, though I may take a few liberties with her, to make her look like she fits in with the team a little better (uniform-wise).

I'm going to try to snap a few more pictures of Groot, from different angles and without leaves, this weekend.

Thanks for all of the feedback guys! :-D

Ah, cool - that's the version I have as well. Definitely gonna try this now.

I heard a rumor that Guardians of the Galaxy is getting the big screen treatment. Not sure if they are popular enough to support a movie that size.

Maybe a direct to video style animated movie...
