Ever make a custom and then think, "Hey...why the hell did I make this?" That's kind of what happened here. I had a bunch of parts sitting on my desk and apparently decided to make the Scorpion King in his scorpion form from The Mummy Returns. Why? Who the hell knows. I didn't even like The Mummy Returns. This thing has no place in my collection. But, for some reason, I made it, so I may as well show it off, right? Right.

Image

And since I have not inexplicably made a Rick custom, here it is fighting Indy
Image

And here are the parts:

Main body/Legs: ML Brood Queen BAF
Back of body/tail: Chap Mei giant scorpion
Claws: Half Brood queen, half giant scorpion
Torso: SHS Venom
Head: SHS Thor (modified)
Hand-claws: Chopped up Brood Queen legs

....if anyone likes this monstrosity I hath wrought, I'll probably offer it for sale at some point. Right now I'm just kind of disgusted with myself for destroying so many different parts to make something I really have no interest in.

If you can't find a place in your collection. I'm sure someone could.

I can't think of too many valid reasons to want to create a custom action figure of Brendan Fraser...but you have identified one of those reasons.

If I expanded my verse to go with less of a real setting, this would be a good opponent for my Doc Savage...[ponders]....

Either way, this is really really awesome. I'm probably more impressed you stuck with a project your heart wasn't into and did such a fantastic job with it.

The upper body really sells me on this one -- the combo of parts to make the torso & claws is just beautiful. The Brood Queen/Chap Mei mix for the scorpion body is really great as well.

I've made a couple of "why the hell did I do that " customs myself. Some found their way into my 'verse, some didn't. If nothing else, the fact that you made a kick-ass custom and raised the bar yet another notch should be satisfying at least.

Great stuff!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm warming a bit to this custom, but I have a feeling that it is only going to stay around until I find another use for the shelf space it's occupying. It was a good exercise in customizing a large-scale figure, which I typically don't do. So if nothing else, I got experience.

Oh my goodness, this is masterclass 8-O .

A fantasy lovers dream. With a desert dio from moi, and about half of TC's, Doc Rob's, JFAK's, and half the fantasy creators here customs, that deserves to be shown at Dragon Con on a table.

Oh where is the guy who was making that masterclass Drizz't?

If you can do one, with a Drow woman top and a spider bottom.....

Simply amazing! You really brought new life to that Venom torso. I was trying my hardest to figure out where it came from, but I gave up. And that's coming from someone with two Venom figures! All the parts mesh together perfectly and make one hell of a creature that looks better than the one in the movie. Be sure to PM me when you're ready to part with it :shifty:

That's frikkin' awesome! It don't care what anybody thinks of the movie he's from, that's just a damn cool custom. Five thumbs up, from me.

Looks like you've got enough takers to put this one of eBay when you're finished with it :-D .

That is all sorts of win. Also, if you need a way to tie it in, remember that Brendan Frasier will be playing the descendant of Rick in the new Gi Joe movie. So you just technically made a Joe movie custom too! Great job!

Well, that completely blows away my one attempt...wow, that scorpion body is BEAUTIFUL. You've got the whole thing assembled so smooth and tight, I'm not sure whether to be jealous or simply floored. Great, great stuff! :-D

agreed, wonderful toy.

Maybe it could be in Serpentors/cobra commander's arena of sport, :)

Or you could sent it to cap so he can make a dio for it to stand on, :)
