Post subject:  F-22 Raptor "Traditional Paint Scheme"

I picked up one of the PTE F-22 Raptors earlier this week. However the one that bothered me was that it was painted black even though it has never flown in black paint. So with that I plan on repainting mine in more traditional color. Since I have it taken apart I thought I would add a few modifications that I want to make to mine first before I start painting it. My goal was to get rid of the "Air Superiority" look and turning it back in to the "Stealth" look. This will included removing all the missile mounts from both wings as well as cutting up the the bottom of the plan where the Internal storage bays are and creating working doors and designing an internal bomb bay so that the missiles can be stored inside of the plane like a true stealth plane would have. Once I got all that finished I painted it in the traditional F-22 Raptor paint scheme.

As always you can veiw larger and more detailed pics in my customs Gallery by clicking on the link below.

Seeing the WIP pics just adds to the tremendousness of this custom. Great job on it, especially the bomb bay mods. How big of hangar do you have for all your planes? :-P

Yep, when I was cutting on the Jigsaw pieces on the edges I left the one closest to the middle just a little small so that when you shut the doors the friction between the doors and plane keep them shut.

Carn this thing is freaking sweet looking. Definately the missile bay doors add a little more realism to the jet as well. I'll be debating about trying to mimic your jet whenever I get mine.

And also they've already build the 100th Raptor back in 2007. So there's quite a few in operation. Alaska also had a squadron there as well. ;-)

Loved that bird since its debut, and even the old Genesis YF22 polygon game.

Fantastic, and we must see the pilot.

Great job Carn. Love the modding and the paint scheme. We need some pics of a pilot in there. :D
