With this Duke custom I wanted to keep the bandolier look of the original, but I wanted it to actually serve a purpose. That is why I chose the Recondo V1 chest, the molded straps for the shoulder holster were pretty good. I removed the sculpted holster that was on the chest and I replaced it with a 21st Cntury Toys M-1911A1 pistol in the holster. It was also nice that the Airborne wings are there and on the correct side. I chose the Cranckcase arms because they originally had gloves. I later decided to replace them with swivel wrists and Star Wars Scout Trooper hands. I chose the Recondo V1 middle piece because no one in the military tucks in their BDU shirts anymore unless it is for a specific mission. You will notice that all my customs with BDU shirts will have a middle piece that shows that the shirt is not tucked in. I added a couple of pouches for the Ruger AC-556F magazines, a first aid pouch, a flashlight so he can read maps, a canteen and a butt-pack for the maps or other stuff. I chose the plain legs of Airtight V1 because of the pouches, he did not need anything on his legs because he already had a sidearm and a knife. I modified the Gung Ho V1 boots and removed the molded knife and replaced it with a BBi knife and sheath. The colors scheme was simple to pick. OD Green for the fatigues, to make them simple and date them from the Vietnam era, the black leather because that is what the military wore for boots for the most part. I also went with a brown under-shirt for that reason as well.

Overall I like him, there seems to be some issues with the neck line and the wrist joints.

I think I'd also like to see the green broken up a bit, maybe do the top in tan to match version 1 duke?

but yeah great parts choices, and once again it really blows away the 25th version for me. If hasbro would do O ring joe updates similar to this I'd buy them and stop buying 25th figures.

Great rendition of Duke. The mods are nice (almost unnoticeable) The parts flow together, and the paint is crisp. What are those hands from?

I'm sooooo happy to see an ARAH figure.
Plus the fact that it's well done is a bonus.
One small comment. I would drybrush the boots with a little flat black to knock down the shine.

I do want to say thank you to you all for taking a look. The neck line does look out of whack, I think that is lighting. The tan shirt, I understand the desire by some to have it, it just doesn't make any military sense to me. That type of mixing and matching hasn't gone on since WWII and the khaki uniforms are nearly as old.

I do want to take a moment to tell you all that I will be gone for a bit. I lost my sister on 01/24 at 4:45 AM after a 14 year long struggle with liver disease. You can read more about it by following this link. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14396

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. You can take some comfort in that this board will be thinking of you and your family.

Great job, Storm.

Great choice of parts, especially the Star Brigade Duke head. That is probably the best Duke headsculpt in ARAH.
This is a slight departure from Duke's familiar character design but the change works so well here...
