What can an Assassin Droid body be used for? Nothing. I had no use for the AD figure that came with an Anakin Skywalker figure which I picked up for custom parts.

Then I saw the amazing Skeletron figures done by Hypno Hustler using General Grevious figures and I knew I had to take a stab at the most British of all evil robots, Skeletron.

The AD figure was so "Star Wars" in its appearance that I had to mix in a few Joe parts to make it meld ever so slightly with Joe figures. The mechanical looking Destro hands and strange Mutt feet brought an altered look to the body. The oversized Destro hands really give the figure an unstoppable look.

For the head, the "face" is sculpted over the blank part of a CC head. I sculpted the face much closer to the original base figure, but then decided a sloppy "grin" with janky teeth with give the figure some spark.

Paints/Colors:

Nothing special. I just followed the original colors, adding a bit of black for the eyes/nasal cavity and some blue on the wrist rockets.

Filecard:

REMOTE FIGHTING SYSTEM (Unconfirmed)
Code Name: Skeletron

****

File Name: N/A
Primary MOS: Close Quarters Combat
Secondary MOS: Bodyguard
Place of Assembly: Unknown

****

Skeletron might appear to be an upgraded BAT model at a first appearance. But there's something... eerily flawed about its movements. It has a strut too closely mimicking that of a man. It often displays other nuances not seen in BATS. It shakes its head in disgust, its posture seems to laugh at times, and it taps its fingers showing impatience. It also has a level of target selectivity and environmental awareness that BATS do not.

Mainframe and Hi-Tech believe that another of Skeletron's actions, a very brief complete and obvious "freezing", is caused by a disruption in commands downloading. They think that Skeletron is a remote-controlled humanoid rather than a semi-autonomous robot. The remote control function, safely done from a great distance, is based on information fed back to the user, probably in a life-like virtual reality setting. Its action are possibly sent back to it using a technique similar to "motion capture". However, no Skeletron unit has been captured for retro-engineering to confirm this as of yet. A capture-proof function is that they self-detonate. Quite thoroughly.

"When one Skeletron unit is destroyed, another eventually pops up. But they always act the same. If nothing else, Skeletron is a dangerous puppet. But who's pulling the puppet strings? Skeletron is frequently seen with Baron Ironblood and his Red Shadows. It seems to function as a bodyguard, and aide, to Baron Ironblood. Is he linked directly to Skeletron's remote operator? Maybe MARS or even Dr. Mindbender of the Cobra Command? Sooner or later, a Skeletron unit will fail to detonate. Then we'll start to get some answers."

Mandango! that is creepy looking. Good job.

I'd love to see more of the details brought out in the mold but I like it just fine as is, since the original figure was the same way.

That's a joke, right? The AD is the sweetest SW droid ever! If you have anymore, I'll take 'em off your hands! ;-)

Sweet figure btw. Always had a soft spot for Skelly. :-)
