Now for the ultimate bad guy to go with my Marvel collection (I just hope they will bring out a classic MU Dr Doom soonest). I have been thinking about this one for some time, but what figure to use? I considered a SHS Juggernaut, but even though he was big, he wasn't imposing enough. I started looking at my SHS Hulk as a base. Never really been into the Hulk as a character, so fodder it became. Decided to use the entire figure as it was, including the head, but still needed to sand down the body a little to get rid of the 'ripped' look. That done, I took the toes off the feet and sculpted the boots on, then did the same with the gloves. I added small bits of epoxy to the left gauntlet to make teh gems for the Infinity Gauntlet. I extended the chin and added ridges to it and sculpted the helmet over the hair. Believe me, none of this is easy when you have a cat asleep on your knee ;D once all this had set and cured, I popped teh head off and added the wide collar and collar using epoxy clay. Let that cure for 24 hours before I started on anything else. I sanded down the front of the helmet decorations slightly to get the desired shape. I looked at the overall result so far and it didn't look quite right. I cut off the left hand just above the gauntlet and repositioned it. Now I added the groin protector, belt buckle and used thin cotton backed vinyl to make the bottom part of the jacket. I went with a navy blue paint (it looks a lot darker in hand than in the pics) and a bronze to try to match the colours from the comics. And finally, here we are: |

Impressive! There are a few spots though, where the paint doesn't cover enough. Like on the right and left shoulder, I can see some dark green showing up. Tim 121RVC |

Very cool to see another Thanos done in this style. I like the colors you went with. |
