how can you really tell about the painting, this is too photoshopped to tell..... (it cant be just my computer can it?)
nice idea but would like to see a proper pic!
The background black is all that has been photoshopped, and that's only to cover dust and specs on the scanner plate. The figure itself is the actual scan image with slight brightness/contrast adjustment to make the image look like it does to the naked eye. I don't "correct" anything with photoshop- like the small sliver of yellow next to the brown shoulder padding below the neckline. I leave the flaws alone.
I recently looked at this website from a friend's computer and was a bit surprised to see that most of my images look very "grey", as if the black isn't black but rather a dark grey. I have no idea what causes this; looking at my images on other computers (and of course my own) the same images have enough contrast. But on at least one computer my images seem to have a smoky film on them. If you have any ideas, please let me know...
Drbindy & MacGyver,
I'm pretty happy with the head, too. It could probably pass for a Dr. Knox head as well. As far as the legs and torso, they don't match up perfectly so I'm happy to hear that the paints hide it. That's one of the reasons I used the oversized belt to disguise the proportions. The Scarlett hips had to be whittled away to take the LJ legs.
This also leaves me with a LJ torso with Scarlett legs that I'm going to start working on to make another figure. This will be an even bigger challenge to hide...
