Here are some new (and updated) customs I have been working on recently. First up: His code name: Guardian. Mini bio: Once a member of the Los Angeles SWAT Team, Guardian was in one of the busiest precincts in the US. His unit was close knit, and often spent off hours together as well, enjoying cook outs and watching sporting events in each others' homes. However, an attack on the city by a unit of Cobra Alley Vipers* robbed Guardian of his "family", he being the sole survivor of the team. When he recovered from the physical wounds he sustained, Guardian decided to apply for the Joe Team, wanting a crack at the organization that had robbed him of not only his teammates, but his whole sense of security; he is driven to stop those who would cause others to live in fear of tyranny. When he was accepted, Guardian began working closely with Shockwave* and Bullhorn*, who have given him advanced training in fighting Cobra's forces, including the dreaded Alley Vipers. |

Next, a bit of an update: His code name: Stryker. Mini bio: Stryker grew up in a small town in the Midwestern part of the US, but he didn't believe that was the place he was meant to be. Feeling out of place for most of his life, Stryker joined the army on his 18th birthday, and shipped out for boot camp within a week of graduating high school. Highly motivated, Stryker went on to Ranger school, where he was discovered by Stalker*, who referred him to the Joe Team after he completed his training; in the referral, Stalker stated that Stryker reminded him of a young Rock-N-Roll* when he witnessed how he handled a machinegun. On a side note, Stryker is a fan of John Wayne movies, and often quotes lines from his films, doing his best interpretation of the original Duke* (John Wayne, not Conrad Hauser*) as he does so. |

Lastly (for now): His code name: Hot Shot. Mini Bio: Hot Shot started working western shows at the age of 15, displaying his skills with six-shooters that were given passed on to him from his father, a direct decendant of a famous gun fighter (but who has not been publicly identified by the family). Being a trick shot, able to hit targets blindfolded and over his shoulder, Hot Shot came to the attention of several members of the Dreadnoks, who were planning a job that they believed he would be an asset on. However, when he declined the "offer" (which amounted to a "do this or die"), the Dreadnoks beat him, and Ripper* took his blade to Hot Shots face. Believing him to be dead, the Dreadnoks left him a bloody mess. Hot Shot spent six months recovering from his ordeal, during which time he began working on speeding his draw time with his "weak" hand; he now draws and shoots with nearly the same accuracy and speed with either hand, with only about a five-one hundredths of a second difference (with his right hand being the "slower" of the two). Hot Shot rides a custom motorcycle in search of the 'Noks, blending in with the biker society (to gain information from other bikers) as he seeks to even the score. The Joe team has been trying to deter Hot Shot from going after Zartan's gang, but without success. They have even gone so far as to have him arrested, but were unable to hold him, due to he hasn't broken any laws in his pursuit (at least not that they can get anyone to testify to). Todd Shakka85 |

Great work on all three, and the bio's give each one a sense of realism and depth. The paint aps on Stryker are real nice. |

Every one of these figures rock. I'd buy them at retail. |

Thanks for the comments. Tanstoys: I see your point on the vest, but it isn't all that bad in person. I think his knife sticking out of the sheath the way it does bothers me more... shadowdude82: Only time will tell as to whether or not Hot Shot will catch up with the 'Noks and exact his brand of justice on them... |

I love these. Last two are my favorites, but they are all really nicely done. |

Guardian. All of them have great bios but his is the best in my opinion. The camo work on him is very slick looking. I like the way the parts work together. My favorite of this bunch. Stryker. At first I hated the hat. It didn't seem to fit a Midwest guy. Now I think it gives a bit of character he otherwise lacks. I mean a heavy machine gunner in woodland camo is anything special, but by giving him that hat you give him an attitude. Good head choice for him too. Hot Shot. The tattoo looks really good. I love the flames on the pants and the addition of the goggles. Two things I'd like to see is him on a chopper and with his face a little bit more messed up. Maybe more scars. A offset nose. Something that shows the Noks messed him up and left him for dead and not just a slice across his face. |

Where exactly did that hat come from? Is it Chap Mei? I need one for a custom I'm cooking up, and I'd rather use a pre-molded one rather than make one. |

All of them are good, but Guardian is my favorite. The camo design is sharp and looks better contrasted against the no-camo sweater. |

MUNDO wrote: Where exactly did that hat come from? Is it Chap Mei? I need one for a custom I'm cooking up, and I'd rather use a pre-molded one rather than make one. It is a cast of the one worn by the Venom vs Valor Clutch, the one that came with the little dune buggy looking vehicle (the figure is Recondo with a different hat). Anyway, it was the only good cast I was able to come up with out of the mold I made... Todd Shakka85 |
