Yep, I 'Starbucked' Freefall.

Why? Because the original guy was boring, forgettable, just another parattrooper. ;D

Very cool. Definitely references the original in terms of colors but goes somewhere so much more original with it.

Wow, I think this makes both the original character and the "blue Scarlett" figure parts you used so much more interesting.

Looks great. Good use of the figure, and great character concept.

Also cool seeing a team of newbies in action.

Ditto, ditto, and ditto. Really cool all around. The camo looks good for her too.

You know, I've got no problem with the female versions of less iconic characters and, if you're going to do it, this is how.

Very well done.

This is a fantastic figure and a great idea.

As one of the handful of collectors that clings to the notion of a solid time line reaching back to 1982, I really dig the idea of new characters assuming the mantle of older characters' codenames. As far as I know, "Doc II" is the only example of Hasbro (via Master Collector) making an official hand-off of a codename. There were a few characters that had two different file names, but it was unclear if those were for legal issues or if they were supposed to actually be different characters (Lifeline is the best example).

The paintwork on this figure really is astounding. You do amazing camo painting and it totally redirects the appearance of the figure. Perfect!

Having only had the Sky Patrol Airborne as a kid, when I found out about the first one, and that he had a different file name and was obviously a different person, I really just assumed he died and they gave his codename to his replacement.

Though I know not everyone would like it, I really think there should be a second generation of GI Joe that followed the same basic timeline of the original, but most of the original members had moved on and passed on their code names.

Freefall here is a great example of why it could work I think.

Awesome. Thanks very much for the kind words here! I'm very proud of this figure, both for the randomness of it and for the end result. I'm super happy other folks like it too.

who knows, maybe Freefall will get a second look from other fans now. Truly, I love the 1-figure/1 version, C and D list, open book Joes like most of the 1990 Joe lineup was simply because there's a bottomless well of potential to let them shine if they get the chance as there is so littel established about them (those DiC cartoons really don't count... or at least shouldn't).
