Hi all. It's been a while, I know, but I've been doing alright -- just without the extra resources to devote to customs and dios for a while. Anyhow, I've been working to complete my new sculpt-style customs, as I'm just not ready to make the leap to a "new artist" in the dio-story. That, and I'm just not proficient at splitting the chest on the 25th / movie figures. Anyhow, I have a story to introduce the Rhino into my dio-verse, and for it, I chose to have Windmill pilot the .. Winged Fury? helicopter in it using the whole experimental helicopter angle. For his figure, I tried to tone down the neons, but I also decided that an orange flight suit wouldn't be out of the question. I'm not too happy with the head; it's a JvC Wild Bill where I shaved off the goatee and sculpted hair. Not only is the chin kinda large, but the helmet is a tight fit and rubs off the paint. So, I'm thinking of swapping out the head. The doodads on the helmet are pincers from the scorpion/backpack from the VvV era - I tried to imagine what they'd be for in the original, and can only come up with antennae or other electronics.

Interesting parts combo but I think an arm swap is needed. Those BR arms have a tendency to be very apelike on shorter figures. Some VvV Beachhead lowers paired with VvV Storm Shadow uppers will still give you the rolled up sleeves and gloves but the arms will be more in scale with the VvV sculpting of those legs. From what I can tell the head looks good and fills the role well. I don't know what base helmet you used but again it looks good from what I can see. Don't know for certain but you may be able to sand the inside a bit or try boiling it and stretching it open a little to solve your paint rub problem. Overall a nice custom of an obscure character. |

looks pretty good to besides what AVE said about the long arms, as for splitting the 25th/roc torsos I find the ROC ones are ez but some of the 25th are pretty tough |

The head/helmet look good. The arms are long, but I like the feel. How is your sculpting? Could you sculpt a piece of belt/gear to drop between/seperate the torso and the waist? |
