Wip, need some input...

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Now that my company's gone I can be more active on the board. Here's a wip of a character for my dio that I need some help on. It's an armored version of Batman. It's a precursor to what will eventually become the Batman Beyond suit. The paint I used is Folk Art Metallics, but the flash makes it look marred. I'm planning on making batarangs and such to attach to his gauntlets. My question is should I give him a cape, wings like BB, or leave it as is? The emblem is not as centered as I hoped so I may resculpt it. Give me your thoughts.

If you could get the cape/wings/jetpack from the Microman Flight Gear Batman

that'd be perfect IMO. Failing that I think a cape would suit the look, it kinda reminds me of the movie design, so a cape would be nice. The loss of the cape on the Beyond outfit worked because the suits design was so simple, this needs a cape to keep the Batman feel, otherwise it's just a black Iron Man with a bat symbol. I think this would also be an appropriate place to bring back the Azrael bat uniform wrist Batarang launcher.

I think you have a great start, try the Resolute Duke wings and see how it looks. No cape if your moving toward BB.

Thanks for the advice. I've actually been leaning towards the Res. Duke pack out of the simple fact that I have them on hand. May mod them to fit Bats a bit more.

I personally like the idea of a cape, in that it would help make the suit be an intermediary between traditional bats and BB. Even a split cape would be cool, and might emulate soft wings too - by having a cape split into two halves, each half draped down from underneath the shoulder armor. I think it would make the whole look much more cohesive.

Also, I personally don't think you should mess with the emblem at all, looks perfect to me.

I'm with HypnoHustler on this. I think you need to look at the Azrael design and make it less 90's cliche and fit in better with what you've got going on here.

I actually started an Armored Bats using the Ripcord ROC figure with the Duke pack. Never did get it finished, but I say that's the way to go.

Thanks for the input everyone. I may try both cape and pack. He's Batman. Who says he can't have both. I'll throw together some ideas and give you some updates later.

John, that is definitely a cool take AV made. He's always been inventive with his Bat customs.

I think bindy has a great idea with the split cape but the duke resolute pack would work too. The batsymbol looks great but I think you need to change the lower legs to loose the feel of a batironman, use some clone lower legs to make a different look otherwise good stuff

The entire figure so far is made of recto-linear shapes. A cape would confuse, if not totally destroy, that design element. Go with triangular/bladed wings.
