If you recognized the quote, you probably had a pretty good idea what to expect here.

I had cold-weather versions of just about all the old-school Cobra hierarchy except Scrap Iron, Major Bludd and Zartan.

Now I just have two left to do. Unless, of course, the general consensus is that this attempt is full of phail.

What do you guys think?

the jacket does work for zartan but it's not one of your usual exceptional customs. The jacket is the new artic destro figure I assume

Thanks for the comments, guys.

When I saw the arctic Destro test shot going for less than $10 on eBay, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with his coat of arms :)

Implementation was trickier than I expected, requiring substantial trimming of the arms and the Zartan hood.

Glad it works.

Zartan's mother would not approve. That jacket couldn't possibly zip up! He'll catch a cold!

Looks good I've seen those on ebay also but I'm skeptical about buying from Japan, had a bad experience with a phone.

But nice paint apps and a win overall.

I like it. I wish there was some way of bringing the hoods together. He's got the one of the jacket and the one on his head. I can't think of how to do that though.

I'm just not digging it...and I think it's just because those parts still look like they're meant for Destro.

Just some thoughts.

I think the Red and Brown clash...they're too close to use together, but close enough that one or the other could work. I would suggest Painting the Hood and pants Red to match the Jacket. It would harken nicely back to the Prototype Zartan shown in the 1984 catalogs(http://www.yojoe.com/catalogs/84/2.shtml)

The Frosting makes sense when it goes along with Destro's Frosted head....I would just paint over the frosted pads so they're a solid black...or maybe Black with a Purple inset like the vintage figure's chest and thigh pads were.

I think if you could get the corners of the Zartan hood to rest underneath the coat parts, this would be ok. having a hood like his is distinct from the hood of a parka. I'd just want the Zartan hood to look like it comes up from his underclothing, and not look like it is floating on top of the coat itself.

I am kind of in this camp also. As it stands, while I really like the structure of how the parts go together, the colors make me say, oh cool Zartan is wearing Destro's coat. Personally, I'd be more in favor of painting the coat to be more distinctly Zartan than Zartan to match the coat. Also agree with the snow effect. If you keep it, apply it some to the figure itself too, so that it flows.

I like it but get the criticisms about the paint clash.

Also, can't think of a way to do a leg swap that looks "arctic" but still Zartan's style, or lack thereof. Points for using the clothed Zartan torso though :D

I wouldn't change anything.
I like the fact that the hood is separate from the jacket. He needs it all the time because he's light sensitive of course it's separate from the jacket.
Nice custom

Looks good overall.

It's been a while since I've seen any reference pics, but was Zartan wearing a sleeveless vest instead of a full coat?

As for the custom the different color sleeves kinda throws the work of the jacket off.

I have absolutely no problem with him having two hoods. His normal one is kinda like a doo-rag or hankerchief (which some of the DDP Dreadnoks had), and his jacket happens to have a hood on it. Big deal. Every cold weather jacket I've ever seen has had a hood on it. Without his usual hood it's just not Zartan.
