I'm not wild about that head....it's just a little too goofy or gooney. Maybe if you went with a dark eye color like black or a dark green.

I agree with the hair.
As for the wings, I think a mixture of black and gray for the muscles and structure, with the colors lightening up to reflect the thinner membranes in the middle of the wings. I'd add some small scab-like bumps here and there to reflect normal surface of wings.
