Ok - got the new Secret Wars packs today - started working on giant Nightcrawler and mohawk Storm.


Knocked a 1/4" or so off of Kurt's lower legs so he wasn't so dang tall, then I painted the bottom part of the "V" on his torso that Hasbro forgot.

Then I went and slapped Starfire's hair and the Baroness's boots on Storm to make her more Storm-like.

Here's some side-by-sides with figs that matched Kurt & Ororo's original heights (blurry, but you get the point):

Still need to work on a cape-y thing and some gold trim for Storm to get her to look more modern.

agreed, nightcrawler and storm do look better now, that's the only new set I want to get and will want to fix too, since you are working on a new WW want to sell the old one?

Nice fixes Chief, NC looks better, the more i look at mine, the more lanky he looks, Storm's new hair is great. On WW have ya tried Ms. Marvels legs, i think those would look much better than the muscular ones Kon-EL is straight up cool.

Tim, that is my old Wonder Woman - I extended her legs and broadened her shoulders to make her the right size compared to the other figures. Then I swapped out her old hair for some Spider Woman hair instead.

EDIT -- ok, the freakishly-long thighs were getting to me -- I'm going back to the drawing board and I think I can get the same effect by giving her some heels like Storm - and I can still find some girl-sized muscular thighs by using Iceman's.

Ok, weird observation after looking at Storm a second time, does she have junk in her trunk? She looks like she'd got some Samonsite on the luggage rack in comparison to your WW.

lol - nah, Storm's just got that belt-thing on that makes her look a little wider. Also, Wondy's thunder thighs make her butt look smaller, I guess.


Went back and re-did Wondy's legs - gave her Iceman's thighs (the same length as MM's legs, but bulkier and ripped) and added 25A Scarlett's boots -- now her leg-to-thigh ratio is way better and she's still a formidable height.



- Still needs some touch-up work on the boots and a once-over on the whole fig, but I think I have the construction where I want it at least.

Really nice work all-round, Dan. Now I actually like the stock hair on Storm. For me that was the most memorable version of her.

Ok - what about these guys?




Didn't care for Thor's "old man" head, so I swapped it with an MLS Thor head - keeping the MU helmet, hair, wings, etc.

Creel is just a repaint to make him all human.

I had a real problem with the original Thor head, so this is nice to see. I'll be doing the same when I finally see one. Actually the stock one looked too much like a cartoon.
And Creel looks great.
