RE: SHIELD, CODE NAME: NICK FURY

Ok, here's what I know. Presently there are at least three "Nick Fury" agents operating within SHIELD, not counting the Fury Jr. guy leading the "Fury Force." Of the three, we can pretty easily conclude which two have no chance of being the "real" Nick Fury, using the legendary WWII hero of that name as the baseline for who the real Fury is. Whether the other one is the real deal or not I do not know. I will say he is fairly lively for what his age would have to be, but I will get to that soon.

Here is a quick peek at my dossier for one of the three known Furys - this one seems to be the "newest" of those known to me. Understand of course there could be more that I am unaware of. As a quick reminder, the agents codenamed with the Fury moniker are important because they - individually or more likely collectively are the real shadow directors of the SHIELD organization. Even during my term as "Director" I knew I wasn't really calling the shots, not on the important issues. They were simply using my celebrity. And since I acknowledge that celebrity has been tarnished a bit in recent years they replaced me and are now using Steve Rogers in a similar way - though I doubt "Cap" is bright enough or humble enough to realize he is being used, as I realized it for myself.

In any event, here is the agent I know as Fury #3. I will brief you all on the others in due time. Bear in mind that it is a trademark of the codename that anyone "pretending" to be Nick Fury at that given time have some form of eye patch or eye apparatus. The original Fury lost his eye in combat, and wore (or wears) an eye-patch. The Fury agents I have encountered since have all used some form of technology in lieu of an eye patch as does the agent photographed below. Here, "Fury" is wearing a device we manufactured which provides direct access to any on-gear computer devices, and provides a direct link to any smart weapons in-use for both targeting and for using the weapon as a visual aid (to peek around corners, etc...)

Fury(s)!

I love the idea behind this. Good work on the custom and I really like the write up on the 'eyewear'.

Keep it coming!

Love the story behind the "Furys" the figure is great too. Although some sort of jacket would really make it for me. Doesn't even need to be a trench.

yeah, that will be incorporated on another version. For Sam Jackson's version here, I couldn't get the tight black t-shirt from Ultimate Avengers (or at least some of the concept art) out of my head.

Dennis, you totally need to set up a website to display your universe. I know I've missed a few from time to time, and I'd like to see you entire body of work. AV has done it nicely with his UA. Your stories are as great as your customs. I'd love to see them showcased.

I like how you've finally worked out your Nick Fury problem (and glad I could help ;) )

I really like this version but I'm not digging the chest armor. Like most of the Spy Troops stuff, the 25th Zartan armor just has too much bulk to it for my liking. But the rest of the figure is aces.

And the "classic" Fury better have a cigar or...

Thanks guys. I know it's not the most sophisticated custom out there. And yeah, since I'm splitting the character up into its various incarnations, it does stand to dilute each one individually.

MS - you know, the reason I liked the armor for this figure is that in person it isn't bulky looking at all. Certainly not compared to some of the other armor I've used. And I did need some kind of armor or webbing.

As for the stogie, the question is which one is the right one to have for that...
