1985 brings with it Admiral Keel Haul the toy commander and sole crew member of the USS Flagg I went for a mixture of his different appearances to also make him the Goldplated Officer and founder of The Steel Brigade, with a call sign like King, he has to have skill to back it up.

during construction I got distracted while trying to close shipwreck's mouth and cut the whole jaw off so I sculpted a new one,

Head - Shipwreck
torso arms hands - Destro
Lower legs - Lt Stone
Hat - my lil' ponies ponyville postal carrier
helmet - para duke
rifle vest- duke v1
belt - shipwreck
king chest cover - 1/6 fodder

In the Naa-Vy. You can sail the Seven Seas! In the Naa-Vy! You can put your mind at ease...

(He looks very Macho.)

I think that the figure looks great in the first form, (and full props for using the MLP postal cap).

I'm not sure why the second mode (Steel Brigade) would be necessary, or what it would bring to the table for the character. Also where does the "King" call sign thing come from?

If you can sculpt a jaw yourself that well, maybe it's time to start sculpting new ones from scratch.

Connecting Keel-Haul to the Steel Brigade is a strange choice, to me. I've always seen Steel Brigade as GI Joe reservists, not the kind of ground you'd find the Admiral of GI Joe's flagship.

Steel Brigade has never really had a clear purpose, the vs Plague set a few years back had them as a sort of military police security force, the influence in the anti venom task force suggests that as well. I saw a connection to him in his character's intrest in chess, as well as his willingness to climb back into the cockpit and get into the frontlines of the fight whenever possible. figured that with other chess related codenames like Rook (obvious), Redzone (a threatend position that prevents movement), Checkpoint (stretching here but shorten it to Check) So I made him King, with looking into who else could fill the ranks of the other pieces, like Countdown for his shared chess intrest, or Starduster for his uniform similarity or add Chuckles for the Internal Affairs security angle. I used to think of them as reservists, now I see them kinda like the Joe version of Crimson Guards. elite troopers you're not supposed to know who they are in battle, but you're glad they are.

between the jaw and the hair I sculpted until I painted the thing all I could see was Geoffery Jones, the principal from Ferris Bueller and the scientist from Howard the Duck
