For crowd control situations, the Empire employs Stormtroopers with specially designed repulsor/thruster packs for urban pacification. The packs allow Stormtroopers to maneuver above the unruly crowds and are armed with the latest in both lethal and non-lethal armaments. The primary weapon is a heavy blaster mounted on the pilot's left control stalk. The blaster can be used to destroy fortifications or vehicles being used by the rioters and to dispense lethal justice. The blaster can also be set to stun to render rioters unconcious (there is also a wide dispersion setting to stun groups of rioters). The secondary weapons are a pair of grenade launchers (one on each control stalk) used to dispense stun gas canisters. The pack is also equipped with a repulsor claw on the pilot's right control stalk, used to move unconcious rioters to holding areas. The claw's built in repulsor automatically negates the weight of the individual being carried so as not to destabilize the pack's flight.

I really liked the idea of the POTF2 "Deluxe" figures, but their execution left alot to be desired. I retooled and painstakingly repainted a half dozen Crowd Control Stormtrooper backpacks I had in my parts box to better bring them in line with the more modern figures. The colors used match the colors used on my Imperial Special Fire Team and my Imperial Medical Droids, which in turn were based on the colors fo a standard Sandtrooper backpack to tie all of my Imperial forces together visually.

The first time I saw the Crowd Control Trooper in the POTF2 line, I thought it was pretty lame - you managed to make the whole concept look pretty darn cool.
