Just a quick Sodam Yat custom. I love this character. One of my fav. lanterns. Geoff Johns did a great job defining the character that was only hinted at years ago by Alan Moore in a prophecy. He was great in the Sinestro Corps Wars but was missing throughout all of Blackest night. I was really bumbed that he was stuck in the Daxam Sun during the biggest GL event ever. The Prophesized savior of the Corps nowhere to be found? Oh well I'm pulling for a big return in Brightest Day...Maybe even a White Lantern ring? He's gotta make a return at some point because he was seen in the future as the last Green Lantern in Geoff Johns Legion of 3 Worlds story. Anyway I've been meaning to make a Sodam Custom for my Corps so here it finally is....

It's a great custom but not all of Geoff Johns ideas are good. Besides the blackest night thing was already based around a prophecy...having another prophecy involved would've made the plotline seem somewhat lame.

Very cool -- the Duke head works perfectly with the mods you made to it.

Aren't his eyes usually black corneas with white/yellow irises, though?

Don't know much about the Latern mythos, but that's an awesome character design and great looking figure. Solid work.

It could have fit though. He was supposed to save the green lanterns from their greatest threat when all other lanterns failed. Blackest night was supposed to be the Lanterns greatest threat so it could have all tied together if Sodam had wielded the white light and defeated Nekron. Johns likes to foreshadow in his writing and has also hinted that all light corps except the green will fall and Sodam Yat will be the last Lantern and Guardian in the future. Whether thats ever actually written is questionable. I will definatley agree with you though once you start getting too many prophecies and destinies it gets confusing and hard to link up. Remember Sinestro was destined to be the greatest Green Lantern of all too.

Not the biggest fan of the character (didn't like that they gave him the ion power over Kyle). But your custom is spot on. It's amazing how well the duke head works with a little molding. Nicely done. Who's next?

Yep...and still could be...that brightest day thing isn't resolved yet (and could end up being a bad thing...oh and so there's still a chance that Yat and Sinestro could still play a role.
