Here's my modern Infantry focused take on T'Jbang. Let me know what you think.

General Hawk as you are well aware, Explosive Ordinance Disposal is a very dangerous MOS, when you do it for as long as Tripwire has it's not a matter of if you will get blown up, but rather when. This is a simple fact that Tripwire himself admitted to on many occasions. As you know, the time came.

On his last mission Tripwire and Owens, Cory R., codename Lightfoot, found themselves disarming what appeared to be a standard polynitroaromatic explosive device. As the two carefully disarmed the device while following all protocols to the letter, a second device was activated.

The resulting explosion took the life of Sgt. Owens. SFC Skoog was found 30 yards from the blast area with 3rd degree burns over 80% of his body. The blast also resulted in the loss of both legs above the knee, his right arm below the elbow, and his left hand at the wrist. He also suffered numerous internal injuries. Tripwire also lost his eyesight as well as his hearing. Over the last 19 months Tripwire has received 12 skin grafts and undergone 15 surgeries to repair the internal damage. Tripwire has also undergone near constant physical therapy. When we try to stop him he makes it very clear that he is not finished.

Thanks in large part to our collaboration with the British Experimental Weapons division and M.A.R.S. Industries we have been able to provide Tripwire with cybernetic enhancements to both his right arm and left hand. He is also the test subject of a new neuronet technology, when wearing his specially outfitted helmet Tripwire can "see" in several light spectrums; visible, infrared, and ultraviolet. He can also "hear" sounds far beyond the reach of the average human.

While it is true that Tripwire has refused to accept cybernetic legs, and his body has been trying to reject his cybernetic left hand, these should not be seen as weaknesses. To help offset the rejection we have retrofit the helmet with a medicinal inhaler. So far the results seem positive.

To that end, and due to the ever increasing threat caused by the growing Z menace I feel it is imperative that PFC Skoog be fully reinstated to the Active Duty Status within the Joe team. We need his knowledge to deal with what could be catastrophic disasters as our military arsenal, and more importantly, our nuclear arsenal age. We have so few qualified technicians to disarm these weapons of mass destruction that to deny service to Tripwire, our best, would be highly ill advised.

I really like T'Jbang. The mask is done really well, although it's more orange than yellow like the original. I like the entire design for him.

As for Tripwire, on a personal level, I have a difficult time viewing maimed/disfigured character customs. That's me and me alone, so it is nothing against the work you did. I'm just not comfortable with that amount of 'realism'. I'm sorry.

Hey thanks. The yellow is definitely a bright yellow in person, I blame my crappy lighting and flash.

T'Jbang is one of those characters that came along while I was far far away from the Joe world, so I know little about the character, and less about the original design. But I get the gist of what the character is enough to appreciate that you captured it here, but regardless of who it is, the figure itself completely rocks. I love that mask, and I love the amount of personality of the face underneath that stll shows through.

I remember seeing tripwire before I think, if not here then somewhere. It is a grim take, yet not inappropriate, given the character.

the Merc is simple, yet very very effective. T'Jbang though is probably my favorite of your customs to date

I like T'Jbang but I think he needs the bandanna knot. Right now he looks like he stole Dumb Donald's hat.

T'Jbang is great. Almost like if he followed the tutelage of the Silent Master instead of Kamakura. Another Ninja Commando. A new and different take on the character.

Ditto. I get a real deja vue sense from this figure. I like the technical skills behind it. Lots of neat things going on.

The Spetsnaz Merc is ok. Technically he's sound, but you made him so generic he doesn't really stand out. That is great if you want him to blend in. One thing I would add is a trench shovel. I watched a military channel special on the Spetsnaz and they train specially with that tool to kill. It was awesome. http://www.spetsnaz-gru.com/spetsnaz-en ... ovel-1.htm

Thanks all. I couldn't remember where I posted TW so I figured since I was posting T'Jbang and he was next to him on the shelf I'd give him a go.

Pluv, yeah the Spetsnaz guy wasn't hard, I just wanted to do a simple custom and that head screamed Russian to me. I figured I'd make him forgettable which for him would be a good thing. I'll have to figure out a way to give him that shovel that makes sense.

T'jbang is awesome. You kept him recognizable while ditching the yellow and making him all-around cooler. How did you make the mask? Is it sculpting?

Tripwire might be the most depressing custom I have ever seen. Good job.

I love TJbang. Great job.

The merc looks like a merc. Effective.

The mask is two heads fused together. I cut the bottom jaw off of SS and the jaw off Hawk and glued them together.

I'm not a fan of neither, frankly. Without any outlandish ninja aesthetics, T'Jbang's yellow Zorro bandanna just looks ridiculously out of place. The body looks great and has a fine infantry look to it, I'll give it that. It just seems out of place with the T'Jbang character and the mask itself.

And I'm with DarkJedi on the Tripwire... icky "mutilation" customs like that are really not my thing.
